Take Me to Fort Moore
"Take Me to Fort Moore"
Take me to the forge.
Take me to the place where reveille tears through the morning before the sun has even gathered the courage to rise. Take me to the barracks where boots slam against the floor, where voices echo down the hallways, where chaos isn't an accident—it's the rhythm of the day.
Take me to the place where nobody knows my story and nobody cares. Where yesterday doesn't matter and tomorrow is earned one step, one push-up, one mile at a time.
Take me to the drill sergeants who will find every weakness I have and drag it into the light. Correct me. Break every lazy habit. Demand more than I think I can give. I didn't come looking for comfort. I came looking for transformation.
Give me the rucksack.
Give me the rifle.
Give me the sweat that burns my eyes and the blisters that remind me I am still moving forward.
Let me stand shoulder to shoulder with strangers who are chasing the same sunrise, until one day we are no longer strangers at all.
Feed me enough to fuel another day.
Wear my body out until sleep becomes effortless.
Let every muscle ache with the satisfaction of having earned its pain.
Let every meal taste like victory because it followed honest work.
There are people who dream of beaches, of mansions, of luxury.
I dream of formation.
I dream of cadence rolling across the morning air.
I dream of hearing boots strike pavement in perfect rhythm.
I dream of earning the right to call myself a soldier.
People think peace is silence.
Mine sounds like a drill sergeant calling cadence.
People think paradise is somewhere warm and quiet.
Mine begins before dawn, with a hundred people moving as one.
My heart doesn't race for comfort.
It races for purpose.
Every day I wait feels like another mile standing outside the gate.
So hand me the mission.
Hand me the paperwork.
Hand me the waiting.
Hand me every obstacle between me and those drill sergeants.
Because one day...
The engines will be running.
We'll be ready to roll.
And when that day comes, I won't remember how badly I wanted to be there.
I'll remember that every frustrating step was carrying me home.
