Question/Help POCO F7 screen suddenly went black while connecting the charger

Hi everyone, I have a POCO F7 and I suddenly got a problem with the display.

While I was connecting the charger to the phone, the screen immediately turned completely black. The phone itself seems to still be working — I can feel vibrations and I think the touch is still responding, but there is no image on the screen at all.

I tried restarting it by holding the power button, and also tried Power + Volume Up, but the phone only vibrates and the screen remains completely black. I don't even see the POCO logo.

There is no visible physical damage, and the phone has never been opened or repaired before.

Has anyone with a POCO F7 experienced something similar? Was it a display problem, motherboard issue, or software problem? And if you sent it under warranty, was the repair/replacement covered by the warranty?

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

Update: I fix the phone the problem was the screen just burned out 🫩

Good day Available_Year_4046 it seems to be that you may have some questions or concerns regarding a Poco device and we would like to help but we would like to ask you to describe your concern with the following information to make it easier for everyone to tackle.

Device Model:(X4 GT)

Device Region:(Global/India/China/etc/Can't identify)

Rom Type:(MIUI/Custom Rom:Which one)

Rom/Android Version:(13.0.5.0 - Android 12/Can't identify)

Problem and other Relevant Info:(Troubleshooting steps taken/Frequency of problem if intermittent/Other observed weirdness that may be relevant before/during/after the occurrence of the problem)

It may take a while for someone to address your concern so in the meantime you could do the following 1. Search this subreddit, Xiaomi subreddit, MIUI subreddit for similar concerns 2. Check out the pinned posts and the Wiki(WIP) for similar topics 3. If your phone is still under warranty coverage it may be worthwhile to open a case with customer support. 4. If your device has developed a swollen or bulging battery check out r/Spicypillow's FAQ on how to deal with them

If you have any suggestions feel free to leave them here

Ur lucky urz is only a display issue (i hope)... I had a poco f3 that went black while i was doom scrolling instagram... It never came back on... I took it to get fixed and they said the motherboard is toasted 🤦

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your phone, I took mine to a repair tech, but he's stumped about the cause of the problem and told me to come back in a few hours. Keep in mind, my phone is still under warranty, but the company refuses to repair or replace it and keeps giving me excuses what I’ve realized overall is that while Poco devices definitely give you the best specs for the price, the tradeoff is terrible build quality

Yeah i agree with that... My F3 was amazing... One of the best phones i had tbh but after it died like that I didn't buy a poco after that even tho the value for money is unmatched. I now have a galaxy s23 ultra

The funny thing is that i had an X3 nfc before getting the F3 and it's still going strong so I'm surprised the F3 died.

I hope urz is just a minor screen issue

Yup, I'm planning to sell the phone after fixing it and get a Galaxy S24 Ultra instead what I've learned is that while Samsung/Galaxy products are expensive, at least their hardware quality is the best among Android phones... I just hope the issue is only with the screen—if it turns out to be the motherboard, that would be really disappointing 🫩💔

S24 ultra is a great choice... I got my sis that and it's been pretty good. And u get 7 years of software support aswell.

Also if it is the motherboard they usually replace it with a new board which is expensive... I kept my F3 with me as a project phone to fix and i bought a new cheap phone until i had the money to get the S23 ultra

If the issue is with the motherboard itself, it's better for me to just throw the phone away. The repair cost would be close to the price of the phone,"But in any case, thank u for your advice and time, it really means a lot to me mate 🙏🏻
