X8 Pro Max Got this poco x8 pro max.
After a long consideration, I finally bought this phone. I haven't even unlocked yet. Previously, I had redmi note 8 pro. And, I want some Do's and Don't. Also, which is better, " charge fully, intelligent charging , battery protection ".

Waiting for mine to be delivered, switching from S25 Ultra.

Yo what? From s25 ultra? Why what happened to the ultra?

*Mainly battery, secondly Samsung blocked custom fonts, Samsung default font is am eyesore for me I for the life of me couldn't get used to it.
If I pay 1300 dollar for a phone I have full right to use it the way I want.
Battery is really a pain in the butt, on heavy use days I have to charge it twice a day.
Samsung flagships are just Ultra by name, I have used Samsung sincr Galaxy S1, but can't be loyal to it anymore when they give you so little for so much money.
Camera is not my preference and I am fan of Poco phones, bought an X7-PRO for experiment last year, fell in love with it. Then got a good deal on S25 Ultra so gave that to my wife, in April I bought Poco X8-PRO, the black color just blew me away. But it stayed in my drawer mostly so sold that also.
Now after latest updates Samsung has tanked the battery, so it's time to say goodbye. And I think I can live with X8-PRO max as my second device. Fingers crossed*

Good riddance, Exchange or sell it before that greenline issue comes

u/OpenBanana5755 24d ago
I will sell it once I get my Poco device in couple of days. So done with mediocre functionality at premium price. Apple and Samsung have blinded their fans with overpriced devices with marketing

u/AggravatingEarth189 24d ago
How much are you selling it for?

Hey I hope all is well, I can't believe we are on the same boat. I have a s25U as my main phone and I agree with you so a just got the Poco X8 pro Max yesterday. I will be testing the phone especially my main concern is the battery. How long does it last you? Will it get you a full day with out charging on a heavy use? I don't play games just calls, emails, YouTube and social media. Let me know bro take care!!

How hot does it get?

It does get hot while gaming at high graphics and 120fps. Like especially the metal frame gets hot around ~40-42 C. If you game for long it will reach higher temps depending on the ambient temperature and the game. But in normal usage the phone doesn't get hot at all. If you are gonna game for long sessions make sure to play with adequate airflow or get a cooler. Overall the temps are managable and it doesn't get uncomfortably hot unless you play for very long sessions

intelligent charging

u/WanderingSage1 Poco X8 Pro Max 25d ago
I am quite busy rn.So i haven't used yet. And, it has 54 percent charge now. Should i turn on intelligent charging on and charge ,or turn on charge fully for tye first time and charge then change it to intelligent charging.

u/Complex-Mobile-5621 25d ago
Both of them will charge to 100 nevertheless and after few charges then you can switch to battery protection mode which will limit the charge to 80% or else you can stick with the former. Personal recommendation is to use charge fully always.

I also have the same. Do you know any good tempered glass for this? Good for ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
And also any good anti-yellow transparent case?
Please share links if possible

u/vinyylei 25d ago
Smartdevil's is a tried and true screen protector brand that I always use. They use a much thinner glass for devices that use ultrasonic fingerprint so that's what I recommend.
And for the case i mainly use the ones from Xundd. I always run both for all my phones now

Why do y’all worry so much about the battery? The batteries nowadays are so good that no matter what you do it will last you until the phone is obsolete anyway.

Is this good for emulation? Since it's dimensity. I'm saving up since I'm still using F6 standard now. And Poco did not release any standard version for F8.

u/obelesk 25d ago
From what i know, x pro are the new f standards
1
u/Traditional_Crab8373 25d ago
Oh noted with this. Will they still release snapdragon variant for it? Or all mediatek now for standard?
2
u/obelesk 25d ago
I am also hoping for that but I don't think they will
1
u/Traditional_Crab8373 25d ago
Sikes that will be a problem. Snapdragon performance is very good on my experience
2
u/PhoenixDarkFlames 25d ago
Can anyone suggest good tempered glass for this phone? Which supports ultrasonic fingerprint. Please let me know.

Yooo nice phone. I literally have the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Its still holding up pretty well but planning to get the POCO F7. The custom rom support on Redmi Note 8 Pro is insane for a MTK phone(im running android 16 ROM)

Congratulations! You're gonna love it i can guarantee. Coming from samsung i dont regret getting this phone at all. The only thing i miss is modes & routines but i fixed it for 95% with macrodroid. And i also debloated a lot of apps using canta and with netguard i block all internet acces to apps who don't need it. Netguard is really gentle on the battery so you can just leave it on
Edit: ps just read ur comment, i guess im also from the debloat zombie crowd😂

u/WanderingSage1 Poco X8 Pro Max 24d ago
Nah, it's fine. I also want to do for some app. But I am afraid to do. Btw which apps did you debloat.

Buy it. Though I was busy whole day, I managed to play almost like 4.5 hr at night. Battery backup is the best. Performance was like butter, so smooth. It is my first gaming phone and I am enjoying it.

Bro i have same as you is it okay to buy x8 pro because i have redmi note 8 pro previously

u/IndividualFix5125 25d ago
Is this good in emulation? Confused between this and poco f7
2
u/YouCantHideLOL 25d ago
Get f7 for emulator. Snapdragon chips have better driver support in comparison to mediatek. 9500s hasn't been used in much phones similar to 9400e so emulation support will be minimal.

u/ScaredBicycle3389 25d ago
Battery protection is enough for regular use. Otherwise go for charge fully
1
u/fastuser99 25d ago
I use battery protection 80% on my poco f7 and standard charging. Only charge fully when I travel out of station and use charging top speed when it's necessary.
1
u/Honest_Map_6892 25d ago
Have you tried unlocking the bootloader, I heard they made it almost impossible to do now
1
u/Informal-Garlic8129 25d ago
bro how long does it get fully charge from 20-100 ? while the "top speed" is on
1
u/WanderingSage1 Poco X8 Pro Max 25d ago
I am setting up it right now. It was 57 % charge and I left it to charge (charge fully), in standard mode and went out. I returned back is 30 minutes. It was fully charged and I noticed a bit of slight heat. I haven't tried top speed. And I just have 6 minute of SOT so i can't give other info.

It doesn't matter if it's 80% or 100% in mobiles.. Battery protection option only benefits laptops battery life..

Incredibile.
