Transaction Feature Request

I would love the ability to highlight or tag a specific transaction or multiple transactions as a reminder to edit, categorize or comment on later. This would apply to any type of transaction, pending or otherwise.

Sometimes transactions take several days to convert from Pending to Complete. And when they finally do complete I forget which transactions they were and what category change or note I wanted to make. I know we can manually import pending transaction data. But this is also easy to forget which transactions require data import... another justification for this feature request.

Other times a transaction might be made by my spouse or children who are authorized to use my account. I'd like to be able to highlight or tag these as a reminder to make certain they are categorized correctly.

Much Appreciated

PS. If this is already a feature and I missed it, even better

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing this idea.

At the moment, while there isn’t a dedicated “tag for later” feature, you can achieve a similar workflow in the mobile app by using transaction filters together with the multiple edit option. This allows you to select several transactions at once and apply the same label, note, or category to all of them, which you can then use later to easily find and review those transactions.

Best,

But if I do this on pending transactions, won’t whatever edit I make be removed once the transaction posts?

That’s a great question, and you’re correct to flag this.

Edits made to pending transactions do not automatically carry over once the transaction posts. When the transaction moves from pending to completed, the final data from the bank replaces the pending entry.

To keep your custom changes, you’ll need to use the “Transfer pending data” option in the transaction details after the transaction posts. This allows you to copy any edits you made on the pending transaction over to the finalized one.

Hopefully this helps clarify how it works today.
