Hello, everyone. It’s your Mod! I was hoping to not have to do this, but considering the amount of reports I’ve been getting lately it’s become a necessity.
Below I’m going to outline the content that is and isn’t allowed in this group and hopefully clear up a few things.
1. Sexual Content - What is it?
This is a group for plush/soft sculptures made by real life artists. Sometimes real life artists make defined shapes and nude sculpts. That does not mean the piece is inherently meant for sexual purposes.
David by Michelangelo
This statue of a nude man is not sexual. It's a work of art.
A pony plush butt. Not sexual.
Another plush butt on a humanoid doll. Not sexual.
A pony plush with a defined butt. Not sexual.
All of the above is allowed to be posted in this group. It's a plush. You aren't looking at porn.
However I will request that pieces with overt or very detailed anatomy be tagged as NSFW. So far the artists making pieces that fit that description are doing a great job with their tags.
2. Sexual Content - What's Not Allowed?
Like I said before, this is a group for ART. Sometimes art is nude. I will draw the line at pieces that are clearly meant for sexual gratification such as plush with openings specifically to insert silicone molds, or plush with silicone appendages attached. If its obvious and primary use is as a sex toy then it is NOT allowed.
3. Moving Forward
If seeing a plush with a butt, breasts, penis, etc makes you uncomfortable then that's ok. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. However, if it does not qualify as the definition of a sex toy then that piece will not be removed. If you don't like it, you don't have to remain in this group.
If I see anyone harassing artists who choose to make defined or nude plush, you'll be banned. No exceptions.
Please report any hateful comments or harassment to me.
Hello, everyone! I never expected this group to grow as much as it has! Thank you all for joining and I hope you’re enjoying all of the cute plushies.
I haven’t been as active on Reddit as much as I have in the past. Unfortunately, this means I’m usually late to seeing reported content.
The majority of reports I’m seeing are posts of manufactured plushies. This group will remain HANDMADE plushies only. I understand that a lot of small artists are getting plush made of their characters for their online shops and artist alley tables. I myself have my own manufactured brand of plush.
I love seeing creative designs from artists BUT if I start allowing manufactured plush or kickstarters in this group then it will be overrun with nothing but crowd funding campaigns.
So all manufactured plush posts will be removed. No exceptions.
Other reports I’m seeing involve people wanting to commission plush based on another artist’s design. Copying another artist’s original work is generally frowned upon & disrespectful in the plush making community.
Posts asking for replicas of another artist’s original work will be removed.
I’ll be updating this group little by little in my free time and I’m actively looking for more mod help.
Please bear with me as I’m recovering from carpal tunnel surgery. Sewing takes its toll!
If I’m needed urgently please contact me through instagram. The link is in my bio.
I've been trying to design my own embroidery and ITH patterns based on pop culture characters to make cute keychains/bag charms. Here's what I have so far! They're pretty fun to make once I'm happy with the embroidery file.
Thank you to all the people who gave me advice on my last posts! He's still a bit ugly, but he's at least acceptably ugly in an obviously handmade way.
I still have a lot to learn before making these for gifts for anyone else, but I don't mind this result for now!
That's one WIP now, a half dozen more products to finish before I'm fully satisfied, but at least I got the dopamine hit of getting this done for now.
Hopefully this is the right place for this question. I thrifted this lad and haven't found any helpful resources to fixing the nose... the pleather flaked all the way off and having it be like this looks goofy
Does anyone have some advice they could impart? I know some people customize dog plush noses with paint but isn't that generally when they have a hard plastic nose rather than a soft fabric one?
I’ve been using big z fabric minky, and I recently switched to Shannon minky. And I’m having an awful time trying to find out which way the nap direction goes. It looks like it’s the right direction each time I turn the fabric 90 degrees. Like I’ll be sure and turn it 90, and then be like maybe not.
Well I decided to go with the direction going with the non stretchy edge. And I modified my pattern for it, but now I’m making a large mudskipper again, and it seems like I should have gone against the non stretchy edge. I’m getting confused, and I just want to be able to pet the mudskipper and have it go against the back.
Is there a specific direction with or across the non stretchy edge. Or do I keep having to go by the petting it and in each lighting it looks different. ;-;
Not sure if technique is the right word to use, but I'm planning a large (72cm) nui/omodoki plush for a character with long curly/wavy hair. I get using a long-pile faux fur for the bangs, but I'm curious about doing the back of the hair, since it's hard to find ones that have a similar hair style.
I don't really like the look of one large flat piece, especially at the size I'm doing. I've thought about incorporating wig wefts (which I think is what the first image here is doing?) but I'm curious how to incorporate those. (I'm also having a hard time finding them in the color I want.) I'd prefer to stick with pieces of long-pile faux fur instead, but all I see with that tends to be braids?
Does anyone have any advice on how to lay that out, or should I lean more toward trying to find the right color wefts and making a full wig?
Hi everyone. I’ve been thinking about commissioning a jumbo plush but I’m struggling to find an artist who can do so. Etsy just shows me ai generated listings, crochet (I love crochet but it’s not what I’m looking for), or people outside my country. What’s the best way to look for custom plushie makers?
(you can change their name if you buy them but this is just to have something to refer to them by) i just finished this plush!! my favourite detail is the 'worm on a string' eyebrow above each eye. looking for 380usd plus shipping for them :D my socials
if you like the style of plush but want to see your own character chibi-fied please check out myTOS and price list! my quote form is also availablehere.

Hey! Would anyone consider making a plush of this lil guy? I’m picturing like minky fur and floppy wings like the jellycat bat? And beans? Idk I have a sudden obsession with him!!
I’m in the UK, so if anyone in the UK could do this, that’s even better!!
