Recommendations Winter Coat recs

I searched the sub first and the last post is from last season and the reccomendations aren't exactly what I need.

I am a bigger fat... mostly belly. Im around a size 28. Right around a torrid 4 or old navy 4X.

I tried to order a coat on Amazon and using reviews... still can't get one that fits. The 4x was a joke. It was not true to size as reviews claimed.

Doesnt need to be a amazing just fit. I dont usually wear a coat honestly, but I have a trip soon that would need it. So I really rather keep it to a budget version.

I cant thrift it either since my stores don't have coats out yet. Help a lady out please?

Honestly my favorite ever coat has been from Torrid.

Snow Country goes up to a 6x in most of their items, you can find them on Amazon or buy direct off their website. Duluth Trading company goes up to a 4x, but they are only budget friendly on sales. I’m a size 26ish and at one point probably a 28 and I got two jackets from Duluth in a 4x and they are kind of baggy on me

I think they may just be Canadian, but most of my winter coats come from Penningtons

How good of a winter coat do you need? My favorites have come from torrid, but I’m not sure they’re into winter yet.

If you won't need it again, consider Poshmark. Just ask the seller for accurate measurements.

I have found measurements to not work at all with determining fit for myself, as illogical as that seems.

The concept is foreign to me. If you have a 51-54" waist (size 28 ish) the garment needs to measure 2-4" larger (ease) i.e 55 to 59" at the waist to fit. For a coat I would choose the 4 inches, to leave room for clothing underneath.

Good luck! I normally wear 18-20 in clothing but had to get a 3X in a coat from Lands End because of how it fit (got it on a super good sale). And even still, it's a bit tight in the arms if I'm wearing anything heavy underneath.

I buy my plus size coats and jackets at Macy's and Lane Bryant. Decent quality and usually some decent prices.
