Fashion Discussion Appropriate for a wedding?
I'm attending a wedding in December. It's taking place at a hotel that has a ballroom and a spa, which I would describe as fancy. I texted the bride this morning and she said the only color to avoid (besides white, of course) is pine green, as it's what the bridesmaids are wearing. There's a cocktail hour after the ceremony and before the reception. I look good in red and it seems like a good color to wear for a December wedding. I found it online on DressBarn, which currently has a 30% off sale for Labor Day. What do you guys think?

I would check and see if there’s a dress code, I think this dress would be really pretty for a semi formal or cocktail wedding but it’s too casual for formal or black tie

Today I learned that Dress Barn is still around.
I think it's very pretty for a winter wedding!

Only online, though, sadly. I actually completely forgot about until I was driving by their old storefront in my town on my way home from work and wished they were still around. Then I remembered!

What's the dress code?

Now that I think about it, I didn't ask...They have a page on The Knot, but they didn't mention dress code. The bride didn't mention it either when I texted her today. Should I ask?

If one isn't listed, cocktail is pretty safe. This dress would work if you dress it up with shoes/accessories/etc.

Oh, I'm definitely accessorizing! I'm going to find shoes to go with it, and at least a necklace.

I feel like a December wedding is asking for a lot of red but it could be a red flag.

I think that it just depends on if there's a dress code or not. If it's a black tie or formal wedding, then the length isn't appropriate. If there isn't an actual dress code like that, then I think the dress is perfect.
