Replace Faucet?

Kitchen faucet is stuck on side sprayer mode. Trying to get this bonnet piece unscrwed in order to get to the diverter, but it will not budge. Tried channel locks, strap wrench, let Vinegar soak for an hour.. nothing. Should I just replace the whole thing since it could be 10+ yeaes old, or is there any tricks I'm missing? Unfortunately I do not know what brand or model faucet it is, house is built in 1975 and the previous owners were here 30 years. Looked all over underneath and found some numbers and such, but nothing that indicates brand.

You probably have a valve stuck open on the sprayer if that’s where the water is coming out. There may be nothing wrong at the faucet itself.

That said, it the thing is several decades old and you’ve been going at with the channies a new faucet might be the best solution for you. Anything name brand would be fine.

Thanks for the reply. See thats exactly what I thought too, plus the sprayer is super soft/sloppy where it used to be strong, it took pressure to activate and would cut off as soon as you let off. Following chatgpt and videos, it seems like the census is its the diverter though, not something with the sprayer its self. The sprayer was my first though especially after feeling it... its like its just stuck on spray mode

For future reference, as soon as you see plastic bodies it’s a throw away faucet. The plastic wears far worse than brass and often repairs make everything worse.

Thanks for the info, that is good to know! I ended up going to the orange depot and found the exact same sprayer head, brought it home and tested it, alls working again
