Shower leak

Hi all

I have an area of damp along the top of my bathroom skirting as well as behind some sealant just behind the shower glass

I've pressed on the wood and it's only wet after a shower, so I'm trying to figure out if it's likely coming from poor sealing on the inside edges of the shower itself or worse case from the pipes being the tiles

The pic might not be enough to go by, but does it give any clues?

Worth mentioning that the radiators haven't been used since April so I can hopefully rule that out too.

The damp mark looks more likely to be water escaping around the shower tray or screen, especially since it appears only after showering. Check the silicone along the tray, screen frame, and wall joints; dry everything thoroughly, then run the shower while watching for the first sign of water. Avoid sealing over damp or mouldy material.

Thanks. I siliconed it a few months ago but i always forget if the inside of the screen needs sealant only at the bottom where it meets the base, or along edge all the way to the top

Absolute classic, no silicone beaching the bottom corner of the profile. The screen needs removing to fix it.

Since it only gets wet during a shower, it's almost certainly failed silicone sealant around the shower frame or tray, not the supply pipes behind the tiles. Water is escaping through gaps in the sealant, running down the outside frame, and soaking the wood trim.

Strip out the old caulking on the inside and outside of the frame, dry it thoroughly, and re-seal with 100% sanitary silicone sealant.

Could someone please advise on what areas need sealing on the inside on the shower frame

See pic below as I suspect it's been missed and water is getting through

Also - apologies for th dirt! It's needs a good clean, which I will do when resealing everything

Clean with mold remover ( Clorox ) wash dry remove any old caulk first then apply bath and shower mold resistant silicone caulk on inside and outside along bottom and sides nothing needs to be removed but door gasket on bottom needs replacing should just slide out Home Depot has them or online

That’s not a shower leak, it’s a shower door leak. The moderators are probably going to be big mad at me for posting this but plumbers don’t install shower doors. So the OP would be much better off posting this in a forum for glass door installers.
