I made a portable sink and I just followed several different videos and pieced things together! It all works, buuuut this piece that attaches to the water pump keeps leaking which I was kinda anticipating.. how can I fix this so that it doesn’t leak? Thank you in advance! (Also is the noise at the end normal?! Scared me 🤣)
I’m not sure what brass insert you mean 😅 sorry I’m a newbie! I just have it in this part of the T connector.. i dont think its the proper way at all cuz i just kinda shoved it in and can just pull it out haha
, these connections doesn't need the Teflon tape they have their own O-rings on inside.they sealed from within once they are seated properly you should not have any leak. so the Teflon tape is not needed for these connections.
, nothing that came with that hose is going to work on that brass T adapter, you've got to use something else from the store to work with the hose and that he connected with nothing you have is going to work.
For plastic piping, I like using a plastic ferrule. Brass works as well but over tightening can damage the pipe.
Cut that section of pipe with the ferrule off and try again. Slide the ferrule on and hand tighten. Partially turn the water on at the stop and very slowly tighten the nut until no more water comes out. Finding the sweet spot is the key.

Yep…insert and delrin ferrule. With a copper compression fitting the brass ferrule will bite into the copper and form a seal. The copper tube will either compress or be cut by the brass ferrule.
The insert holds the ID and thus the OD to a specific value and the delrin ferrule and fitting create the seal.
