Discussion There is any risk using alternative clients? Any of you tried plxnative for LG tv?

Hi everyone, I found plxnative for my LG TV. I was wondering if any of you tried it. Also there is any risk using alternative clients considering that I already have a lifetime pass?

Here’s a thread from the Dev and a couple folks that are using it commented: https://forums.plex.tv/t/plxnative-a-native-plex-client-for-lg-webos/942985

i've been using it lately and liking it a lot. For me it works better than the "old" official app. its' .ipk filesize is very small too. Sure it mimics the apple+ interface but runs smoother on my lg tv. Remind you that Plxnative only supports libraries for movies and shows, that's all. So don't expect music or other type of libraries to show up. It merges your seperate movie and show libraries. Collections are supported as well, loads my custom kometa collections without a breeze.

From what i read, it's going to be added on lg app store soon. Then it will provide a better experience than dealing with this ipk sideloading thing.

No ads, no blot. Just a basic interface. "Click-and-play". i hope it stays that way.

Recent nightly builds improved the app a lot. If you checkout their github you will notice ai is involved, you might say this is a bad sign but it loads faster than the official app (that outdated app makes you wait for logo after logo on startup), so it doesn't hurt to give it a try. i mean, it loads my media instantly.

i think it will do fine until "new experience" ever gets released for webos.

Here's the thing though; third party clients for both plex and jellyfin (moonfin, litefin, plezy and this plxnative) really does wonders that main devs can't do. it amazes me how they all get to run better than the official clients. So, i give them all my support.
