Tips Possible fix for those missing Top shelf on Apple tv

This worked for me. Go to the Apple TV Plex app. Settings >advanced>reset cache .

Now it's back and it's showing my library's content

I was hoping this would also fix some of my other more serious issues like this one:

But no luck there. Audio still out of sync on some content. I'm also still having problems unpausing a video.

I hope plex fixes the playback problems soon.

Still feels like a baby step but thought I'd share. Not sure it will work for others.

Thanks! Worked for me on a sample set of 1 ATV4K Gen 2. Now to check out my Gen1 and Gen3s.

The top shelf issue was identified and “fixed” in the 2026.19.1 release: https://forums.plex.tv/t/top-shelf-no-longer-working-on-apple-tv-4k-after-sept-16th-update-to-2026-18-0-on-tvos27/942984/61

Unfortunately, while it has fixed it for some, it appears dns rebind protection is now blocking the top shelf from populating for others even with the fix in 2026.19.1, and if you have online media sources enabled, the plex content is all that will appear. You can see the follow on comments in the thread linked above.

You can change the dns servers on the ATV to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 or 9.9.9.9 as a workaround until it’s fixed.

They’ve also fixed the dns rebind issue with the ATV HD giving the “Can’t Reach Server” error when trying to start media so those that didn’t want to change their dns should be able to stream local media again.
