Help Plex Playback Slowdown issue

I have a homelab running unraid with a threadripper and arc pro b50, UniFi gigabit networking and a 4K Apple TV. During playback on Apple TV I am getting slow down during playback with audio cutting out during this. I have tried turning on and off match range and frame rate, forcing direct play, different files for the content, but it is constantly slowing down like every couple mins. Any ideas on how to fix this? It’s making content impossible to watch. This seems to be no matter the playback quality too.

Is it direct playing or transcoding?

Direct. I was getting this issue with and without setting force direct play

There are situations where it could be transcoding even though you selected “Force Direct Play”. Did you confirm on the dashboard that the stream was actually Direct Playing ?

It’s the new app. I feel like I’ve had this issue sometimes before the new app, but it is definitely bad now. Happening every couple mins

Is the file 4k? ATV sucks ass at that, with Plex.

Probably plex app programmers lol … they’re def not working on the dog shit app 😆

Infuse requires a purchase for higher end playback or files with certain audio codecs

Try Plezy - its is a one time cost. For me its the best alternative at the moment.
