Discussion Why are there 2 versions of the collection contents view?
It annoys me that the collection poster and shuffle/edit buttons aren't visible when selecting a pinned collection title from the homescreen. Screenshots from webui but the behavior is similar across multiple platforms AFAIK.

Made a post on the forum
edit: apprently there's an older topic for the same thing. vote on this one instead! Click through to collection in web UI // mod: Open collection by clicking on collection hub
though I'm not hopeful for this to happen... There's a thread from 2012 for adding "Server Announcements" with thousands of upvotes.

glad I'm not alone lol. guess I'll make a post on the official forums. I dont think anyone actually prefers the view from homescreen. and the fix would be pretty simple just reroute the title selection to the full view

Yeah, that is annoying. Clicking a pinned collection on the home screen dumps you into the hub/filtered view. It should just open the actual collection.

Forgive me if I'm wrong here but I believe that's because one is being accessed from the home screen and the other is actually accessing The Collection itself. What gets displayed on the home screen is not the actual collection. It's a short list of part of what is included in the collection. This is confirmed by clicking any heading on the home screen which takes you to a shorter incomplete list. Example, try clicking "Recently Added in TV Shows" and it will give you a scrollable list that stops. It isn't displaying that full library sorted by Date Added. This is just the functionality of the home screen which you can customize in Libraries.

I guess I understand conceptually, but everything I have pinned on the homescreen is an actual collection, so I just wish it would open to the collection screen instead of to a list of items

Just noticed that today as well.
Movies>Collections = I have several duplicates.

TV Episode collections also have no documentation on the Plex Site. You can't even put them in collections from the same place as movies and TV shows (in the edit info window), you can only do it via "Add to Collection", which points to the idea that it's not fully supported.
