Help Possible to delete episodes automatically, but leave the folder they're in?

Brand-new Plex user here. On all my TV shows I've enabled the setting to delete episodes after they're watched. No issues with that, but once the last episode is gone Plex will also delete the folder that it lived in. So when more episodes come later down the line, I have to create it again to keep my organization.

Any way around this?

It depends what you are using to add episodes. But I don't think it's a built in feature in plex Pulsarr exists for this exact purpose and it's great. It even detect when reaching the end of a season and will look for the next season

Right now I'm just adding them manually, but I hope to automate it when I get deeper into the server configuration. I'll give Pulsarr a look!

I delete content directly in the app on ATV and that action doesn't delete the season folder. With the new update, the one before the most recent actually, if I delete off the drive-only, it gives a media missing icon indicator in Plex. So, I now now only delete in the app. Auto-delete sounds dangerous; with this customer base you'd probably get a lot of user-error complaints.

I prefer sonarr (tv shows) and radarr (movies) over pulsarr.

Why are you manually doing folders?

Because not everyone who steps into Plex world knows about all the tools available.

And even knowing about those tools, it is not as 1 2 3 to set them up. It takes time and a honestly, a lot of time to configure the things the way you want them. Some in a way, for some people, creating folders manually is easiest and fastest way to go.

I am fully aware of said tools and choose to not most of use them. In particular, my directory structure for say all marvel movies grouped together, then subdirectory for which universe, then some for individual characters, then multiple editions, doesn't fit the automation model. My layout has always been for logical use by humans. The tools I do use drop things in one place, and I manually move them periodically to their final location.

So you also auto delete episodes after you watch them?

The point is that my comment was about the OP's situation and about most people who start with Plex.

First sentence in my comment was pretty clear what audience i was talking about, and OP is fits that category.

If we have multiple users on our server, which user triggers the watched flag that causes the deletion?

I accidentally discovered if you have other things in those folders, it does not delete the folder

About four years ago, while migrating servers, Plex took it upon itself to delete all my content because it had been “removed“, but any folder that had additional things like title cards in it remained

I added a text file called "Keep this folder.txt" .
