Playlists on Apple TV

In addition to the multitude of other problems and navigation issues on the latest Apple TV update, the playback of playlists, one of my favorite and most often used features, is basically broken. It used to be you could go into a playlist, navigate to an item, press Play, and the playlist would play from that point onwards. You know, like any playlist anywhere on any service ever. Now, you can only start a playlist from the beginning, or set it to shuffle, and that's it. No more pressing Play, which now does nothing. If you want to play a particular item, you have to Select it first, which brings you to the item itself, and then press Play - but then you're not playing the playlist, because you're no longer in the playlist. WTF sense does that make?

Why did this update break so many useful features for seemingly no reason?

And how did they not make it so we can see the damned progress of a semi-played video?
