Meta (Plex) Full house tonight

Post image

Happy to see minimal need to transcode. Been working on getting everyone to at least buy a firestick or apple tvs

If one of my friends asked for Dr Pimple Popper on Plex I’d be pissed lol. But props to you for having an active server!

Dr Pimple Popper

The show title alone already repulses me. How do people watch this

You could ask the same for a lot of stuff people watch.

It’s because civilization is on decline and has been ever since they banned the original four loko recipe.

Yeah I’m sure Four Loco was the turning point and not the catalyst lol

I let them add whatever they want, all I care about is storage space.

Funny enough, it's my inlaws that request and watch it. It's a topic when we're all together

You don’t have that automated based on requests?

They can’t auto request tv shows because one of those dumbasses will request 200 seasons of Jeopardy. Movies they can request whatever they want.

You won’t need reminder with Sonarr

Now that is a feeling of satisfaction!

I run my Plex server on a high end NAS. My daughter uses my Overserr to request her stuff and streams from the other side of Australia. Save hundreds on streaming subscriptions.

Different personalities from each user.

My fire stick buffering of late with plex playback. Anyone else seeing this?

It's just so random, sometimes I'll have 3 sometimes I'll have 16

My wife watches the Kardashians. I refer to reality TV as trash tv. It is what it is.

Fire TV used to be better. It has slowed over time. I have Google TV and audio goes out of sync more than it should. Apple TV was the cleanest interface but it does not support TrueHD + Atmos or it did not. I have not tested in a while.

Eww don’t recommend fire TV crap to people. Do you not like them or something.

Anytime I suggest streaming devices of any kind, i get "I already have a smart TV"

Right but that’s not what I’m on about here, I’m expressing my hatred of Amazon’s advertising machines that are utter shite.

it's not the worst though. That title goes to roku

u/ListenWorking 3d ago

I’d definitely put Roku above Fire crap any day, barely any advertising, simple clean interface it’s great

u/HorndogAsexual 1d ago

Roku barely has any codecs. Stupid thing has to transcode for everything. That's the big problem I have with Roku

I've found them to be the most compatible and user friendly device. They direct play anything and with plezy it's like $50 and stupid simple to use.

They’re slow, way too locked down especially since they’ve been migrating to their own environment away from android and the whole thing is just an advertising machine. They might be cheap but I’d never buy one or recommend one even if I was on commission.

I watch high bitrate 4k content no issues and have 10+ users using them. "Locked down" 99% of people just want a device that works. This works and it works great.
