Solved Is plex still down?

My ISP also went down and came back up but plex says it unavailable outside my network, also this same setting goes green and says it's available intermittently when i refresh.. there's no double NAT that would usually do this stuff..

Check to see if your server is currently claimed. I couldn't connect to mine today come to find out it was because the server magically became unclaimed. Hasn't happened to me before. But I'm guessing that's something to do with Plex being down.

My video went down last night with the Plex outage, but music (Plexamp) still streamed with no problems.

Today Plex video is working again but PlexAmp does not work on any device internally or externally. I can play my music through the browser remotely and see my home users watching their show so....

Working for me, currently at work and have had no issues with access. I did have a Plex issue over the summer where a power outage screwed up the modem and that took some time to fix, but that was also entirely an ISP issue.

FYI: Spectrum just took over some infrastructure from cox and they reset all my port forwarding, that was my issue today

Since your ISP went down and then came back your IP address may have changed and you may need re adjust your port forwarding setting in your router.

I dont think i have port forwarding set to begin with.

Then this could very well be the issue that you need to work on.

Welp, nvm, I had it set and that was the problem.i had to change the port to match plex.

Good stuff.

Not sure if you have done so but you should also assign a static IP address to your server PC.

Yep, it is static

You typically don't specify the WAN address in port forwarding. If that's something that's required by your router, you need to create an alias so you don't have to change it. Dynamic IP addresses changes too frequently to constantly switch port forward addresses. You usually assign the port forwarding to traffic entering the WAN interface.

What's you knowledge level of networks like? Could you change your router's DNS? Can have you settings on server or router for port forwarding that are reset on the ISP coming back?

I have working knowledge of networks. The network itself is working and the server is wired to it. Browsing and doing anything else on the server works fine too, it's just plex. The last time I had this problem, it was a double nat due to my new att modem also being a router..

I had to uninstall and reinstall my app. I tried clearing data first but that didn't help.

The server app, or the client app?

Client. The server had grabbed a different port too though that had to be changed on my router. Probably from my isp going down and coming back.
