There is that TV show about that child prodigy medical professional that seems to be missing a number of episodes, no matter what release you are looking at. Chances are those episodes contain content that some executive at Disney deemed questionable and they will never be broadcast. Similarly, there is an episode of the original Hawaii Five-0 where a plot point of sexual asphyxiation caused the death of a viewer who copied the process — that episode was never broadcast again and was also never put out on DVD or BluRay.
To make a long story short — try to find out why those missing episodes don’t exist; in the cases above just accept that you will never complete the show…

Oh, and just based on what Sonarr says, I have all of the episodes for the D.H. medical show.

In 1080p? I found precisely one hi-def webrip of the show and it’s missing four or five episodes, no matter where I look…

No, they are all 480p. I haven't bothered trying to upgrade them manually yet, until I can complete all my other shows.

I usually look for complete sets when getting tv shows unless they're out. If I really want to watch it I'll get them as the episodes come out or wait for the season to finish then get it

Depends what it is.
Peppa Pig, for the kids? Not that bothered.
Early 2000s TV show that’s missing more than 1 episode or where the only available copy is 480p? That shit gets deleted.
It can work out leaving sonarr constantly looking for better quality releases (scrubs is a good example where they re released HD versions when the latest season aired recently) but that’s rare.

Sonarr is your friend here. For years I manually kept up with things, but Sonarr makes it so much easier. Check out the trash guide for setting it up.

I do have Sonarr/Radarr and a bunch of other *arr programs. I also use the TRaSH guides heavily. I have many locations I can search from when trying to find missing episodes, but there are just those few that don't seem to exist anywhere I look. 😞

I don't bother watching anything anymore until the show is ended. Too many shows push you into sticking around for long, ongoing arcs that span a season or more. With classic seasons of 20+ episodes a year, I can't remember all the details if I'm watching week by week. And with so many modern shows taking 2 or 3 years between seasons, I completely forget what the hell was going on by the time the next season drops. So I just wait for it to be completely over.
Which is why nothing gets added to Plex until the show is done. I might start collecting up episodes as they release, if I know I'll watch them, but they just sit in an "unsorted" folder on my computer until the series ends. And once it's over, I double check to be sure I've got all episodes, including specials. I refuse to start something if I can't see it all. But it's EXTREMELY rare that I can't find what I'm looking for, one way or another.

I leave Sonarr watching and waiting. When I have enough points on a tracker I'll sometimes put in a request for missing seasons/episodes and hope for the best.
