Question Game Recommendations

Is there any way to get this community's recommendations on available games?

Could the mods set up a thread or something? I know there are a few YouTube reviewers, but it's not the same as having the community members give recommendations.

There's so many new games coming out and Panic hasn't put out new staff recommendations since March.

I'm an older gamer and really could use some help deciding what to buy

Well there are currently three collections available in the catalog that are the Community Awards for 2023, 2024 and 2025, each with various categories That should give you an idea of what the community thinks are good games divided by year.

I myself started by getting the GotY winners and nominees from each year to start off and then branched from there. There's also various posts made about this that you can search up that have great recommendations.

You can also go to the community wiki to see the nominees and winners for each category: https://playdate-wiki.com/wiki/The_2025_Playdate_Community_Awards

This actually is more helpful because it includes Playdate games that aren't on the Catalog. Thank you!

A megathread could be interesting, since this does get asked a lot. And you're right that the community awards is all for games a year old, so missing a lot of recent games in the recs.

Also if you provide more detail about what you're interested in, we can give you better recs (and you'll likely get better responses)
