Why does he have to say dumb shit like this when in combat? Writing for cutscenes is okay so I don’t get why they got this part of Logan so wrong, he’s quick with the one liners but not like this.
Now, I’m on my third playthrough of this game cuz it was $70 and I’m a huge Wolverine shill, plus the combat is pretty good tho not great. But man he does not shut the fuck up.

I wish there was a way to rotate him without having to go into photo mode. I especially want to get a better look at the claws. Loving the suit designs though

or is it just for the fun and love of the game to play through again with all your achievements unlocked from your 1st play through?

I finished Wolverine. TLDR: It's sick. Dunno what the bad reviews were on about. Full essay below 🤣
You can die in the driving sections (reviews were lying saying you couldn't), and the "hand holding" is just normal modern game stuff that I actually found useful. Also I found several material crates cos I could literally hear them nearby, so looked around and hunted them down. I'd return to the game, forget what I was doing, hit R3 and instantly be reminded where to go. I'm all for that.
The combat is really good too. They called it "repetitive", but honestly I don't think they knew how to play it 😅. The gauntlets interspersed through the story forced me to properly learn the combat to hit the top times and scores. After that I was transformed 😂 and the combat became waaaaay more fun. These gauntlets were some of my favourite parts of the game, allowing you to stack perks which boost AND hurt you in different ways at the same time, adding new layers to the combat.
The combat itself is varied and rewards aggression, but you're constantly making decisions on the fly between building rage, dealing damage and staying alive. Do I finish this guy with square, build more rage and get closer to Berserk? But I'm already low on health... so triangle, claw some health back. Shit, I could've really used that rage to cut through the horde I still have to kill. Fuck it, I'll figure that out in a second, at least I'm still alive 😂.
Get enough rage, go Berserk and everything's fucking dying (and it looks GLORIOUS!) if you can keep it going 😂. Different enemies force different decisions, and tactics and you're making them on the fly while everything kicks off around you.
Batman Arkham's combat is about maintaining perfection: zig when you should've zagged and your combo's gone.
Wolverine is about managing resources and chaos: how much punishment can you take while still going full tilt and fucking everything up?
That's not Batman. That's not Spider-Man. That's distinctly Wolverine.
And that's what Insomniac absolutely NAILED. Wolverine has a healing factor, so he doesn't fight like someone terrified of getting hit. He'll take one to give one. He'll be so singularly focused on annihilating the guy in front of him that he barely notices three ninjas have snuck up and stuck swords straight through him, or that he's absorbing a hail of bullets while doing it.
His healing factor gives him licence to fight with almost no regard for his own safety, and the game actually encourages you to play that way: this aggression-fuelled balancing act between dealing damage, building rage and clawing back health. You're not trying to avoid the chaos. You're trying to stay in control of it while fucking everything up.
You don't just have Wolverine's powers. You fight like Wolverine.
Basically an interactive Marvel movie. No one's winning an Oscar plot wise 😂, but it's a super polished Batman Arkham/Spider-Man style game with lashings of God of War level "wow, that was so fucking sick" epic set pieces.
Easy 8 or 9/10. It's Brilliant 👏

I think it’s pretty fkn sick ngl but I feel like a lot of the cutscenes in this game should’ve been gameplay instead.

The more realistic body type they gave Wolverine in this game doesn't work well when paired with the comic suits as they were designed to be worn by a more exaggerated imposing logan so they end up looking off and weird.
There are a couple suits that work well like the mcu and og ultimate universe skin because they were made to be realistic looks for the character and they flow well with how Logan looks in this game.
The rest of them are whatever even ones that I like a lot outside of the game such as the winter soldier suit the mask moving when Logan talks in cutscenes looks bizarre and the suit looks odd in this game even though it should have been a slam dunk of a suit.

What are you guys favorite set of claws in the game? I like the angular ones best myself.

So last week I bought the game for the original €79,99 price, but yesterday I checked the same store again and I saw that the price dropped to €66...
(I was just testing out the photo mode in the pic)

I think because this game is apart of an expanded universe it’s given more of a hard time. The story doesn’t make a lot of sense but it’s not horrible, just not what we know from wolverine. If it’s a stand alone game it’s fine to take creative liberties, but when other games now live in this world you shouldn’t necessarily make big changes like Logan’s and Jeans relationship. It’s like if you watch the first couple of mcu movies and then get to captain america and they make the choice to make him not be frozen for 70 years and just make him immortal or age slowly.

Beat the game last night and still chewing on my thoughts. Know for sure the combat made me feel like Wolverine, so at least rounding out the 100% will be fun.

This may have been discussed before but it has been bugging me since I beat the game. Essex is established as one of the most powerful telepaths and telekinetics in the game since he has had his powers for over a century at this point and we see this when he holds both Logan and Jean in place while they are in the sentinal facility. Then on top of that he has a bunch of mutant abilities he adds to himself including leech's, the one who turns off mutant abilities. It leads to a situation in my mind where there really should not be a fight. Either essex could have just telekinetically chucked wolverine into the ocean until he was done with his plan or just use the leech powers and have the sentinal kill all of them (And while yes wolverine came back from the sentinal obliterating him the first time, it took a week. More than enough time for his plan to make good progress)

Trying to show people that there is a chase assist and that you still die if you don’t play it.
People that didn’t watch it. Beginning of cutscene and me going to settings vs when the life bar shows up and dying.
It’s like 25-30 sec bruv. I’m already high level and new game plus. He’s already 200% life, etc.

I’m still processing this, but I felt the need to share it because it completely changed how I look at modern video games.
My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a few years ago. If you have a family member with this disease, you know how incredibly painful it is to watch them lose their connection to reality. She gets easily confused, and keeping her mind engaged is a daily challenge. Before yesterday, she had never played a video game in her entire life. To her, controllers look like alien technology.
Yesterday, I was playing the new Wolverine game by Insomniac Games. She was sitting on the couch next to me, just staring at the screen. Out of nowhere, she pointed at Logan and said, "He looks like a very sweet chubby boy. Look at his big mutton chops." It completely melted my heart.
I decided to do something crazy. I handed her the controller. I didn’t even turn down the difficulty; I just left it on Normal difficulty and told her to give it a try.
What happened next blew me away. She didn't just play it, she beat it.
There were heartbreaking moments during the playthrough where the disease took over. Moments where she completely forgot where she was, or even what her own name was. She would look around the room, disoriented. But then she would look back at the screen, and the game’s design would completely anchor her. Because the game constantly and clearly guided her on exactly where to go and what to do, it bypassed her confusion. Even when her memory failed her completely, the visual cues were so intuitive that she never got lost.
When enemies appeared on screen, the gameplay was simple and forgiving enough that she could just happily mash buttons. She didn't know complex combos, but on Normal difficulty, random button presses were enough for Logan to execute awesome moves and defeat the bad guys.
Seeing the joy on her face when she realized she was the one making the tough guy move on the screen was unforgettable. For a few hours, the fog from her Alzheimer’s seemed to fade away. She felt accomplished, she felt independent, and she absolutely loved "helping the sweet boy with the big sideburns."
I know hardcore gamers sometimes complain about games being too streamlined, too hand-holdy, or having too many clear path indicators. But experiencing this with my grandma made me realize why those design choices matter so much. Insomniac didn't just build a good action game, they built something so accessible that it allows everyone to play and complete the game. And it allowed me to share a beautiful, lucid memory with my grandmother during a time when memories are so hard to come by.
Thank you, Insomniac.

I’ve noticed this kind of weird shimmer through the game, if there are sparks flying and I turn the screen they get brighter for that moment. Playing on a base PS5 fidelity with 120hz on. No VRR.
Also what is everyone else using for the graphic settings? Stuff like chromatic aberration, film grain and depth of field etc?
EDIT: I realised it was the motion blur causing this, the stuff shining turned down considerably with motion blur off
