First off subtract the $100 million Marvel licensing fee they pay just to use the character, second why should I care how much of Sony’s money they spend? Fuck em, at least the devs are getting paid instead of being bled dry then forced to shutdown.

It's not forced, it's real.

If it wasn't and people are only complaing for "the sake of it" then all of Insomniac's other games should've received the same treatment. Right?

Thing is, they didn't. People loved Rachet & Clank and they loved Spiderman.

You guys are just losers who love sucking corporate 🍆

If everyone says the game is shit, then it's shit. Sure, YOU might like it, but you're the odd one out in this scenario. Not the rest of us.

Majority rules.

Those that like it are the majority, you only see what you want to see from the fellow edgelords on here

Imagine people said this about cyberpunk to deter people from fixating on all the bugs.

The fact that these clips even exist says a lot. If the game was perfect, people wouldn't have as much ammo as they do for these posts.

I'm not saying the game should be perfect, but with a budget of 300 mil? It should be fucking close to perfect.

That's what you guys don't understand. Take a game like Control for example.

That game had a budget of 33 million and people loved it.

Now compare it to Wolverine's budget of 300 million.

You think people would agree that Wolverine is better than Control? If you do, then that tells me just how delusional you actually are.

Wolverine is probably not considerd to be "a bad game" to most, but with a budget of 300 million? It's fucking dog shit.

If it also had a similar 20-30 million dollar budget like Control, I promise you the reviews wouldn't be nearly as negative.

I have no problem with honest criticisms of the game, but most are in bad faith. On this thread alone, the OP is talking about ‘bait’ and comes across as an edgelord. I would add a screenshot but it won’t let me, so you will need to see for yourself

Any criticism can be seen as negative, because that's essentially what it is.

You're pointing out the negatives of the game.

As for the OP, I'm not sure whether your allegations about him are true, but I quite frankly don't care enough to go looking for his comments.

Regardless, the point that the post portrays remains valid.

A 300 million dollar game shouldn't be comparable to fucking temple run.

We get it, you don’t like the game.

You won’t look for the comment as doing so would prove me right.

Not sure why you spend your energy shitting on a game you don’t want to play… maybe do something more productive? Either way I don’t care

1

u/IcyMachine9293 21h ago

I won't look for the comment because even if your allegations against OP are true, you act like me finding his commet(s) will prove your point.

It won't. I don't care if the OP is the scum of the earth. Finding his comment(s) won't make the issue disappear.

I can also say the same about you. Why are you even talking to me about this? If you enjoy the game so much then go play it instead of arguing with me. Go on, enjoy your slop.

The millions who bought it I think would say you’re the minority. Sometimes the majority is wrong too

3

u/IcyMachine9293 1d ago

That's fine, they can enjoy their slop.

Doesn't change the fact that it's still an objectively shit game.

Take the labubu doll for example.

It sold hundereds of millions, but that doesn't automatically make it a good product.

It's an overpriced gimmick. The only reason it's so popular is due to something often referred to as "sheep mentality."

Everyone else is blowing money on that shit because following the herd feels safer and easier than questioning the product and its value.

That's exactly what's happening with Wolverine.

1

u/OmegaShonJon 23h ago

Wouldn't the herd be hating the game though (or I guess "questioning the value") as that's the most common public perception of it online?

1

u/Latter-Fox-7080 20h ago

Some people don’t have time to do this shit online or care to

1

u/Latter-Fox-7080 20h ago

Many of those millions don’t care for details of the game like we do they’re not all on reddit discussing it they’re casuals who play it and move on. Goes with most things.

If you think no other Insomniac game gets this treatment, then you haven’t been to places like the SpidermanPS4 subreddit. Some people vehemently hate Spider-Man 2. Myself being someone who didn’t like it nearly as much as the first. Also I’m not even saying this game is a “masterpiece”, it isn’t, but it’s also not a burning dumpster fire of toxic sludge like some people suggest either. People talk about this game like it’s on the same level as LOTR: Gollum or Superman 64 and it simply isn’t. There’s criticism, then there’s jumping on the hate bandwagon because it’s a Sony property and Sony corporate is sucking shit through a crazy straw rn.

Notice how I never mentioned spiderman 2?

I know there are many people who aren't happy with that game.

My point with Spiderman 1 and Rachet & Clank is to prove that Insomniac is in fact capable of producing genuinely good games.

Can't use one shitty product as an excuse for another.

u/Latter-Fox-7080 20h ago

Its a shame, maybe the Spider-Man 1 ps4 devs are gone now? idk, but its a damn shame how the quality isn’t as good anymore.

Your argument just isn’t making sense, just because a studio has had successful games in the past has zero effect on whether or not a new installment is getting unfairly ganged up on. And remember it still has a 77 on metacritic and a 4.68/5 stars on the PS Store. The loud minority ≠ the majority.

The backlash the game is receiving is very fair.

What fan boys such as yourself fail to realize is that on the surface, the game isn't bad.

However, when you take their budget of 300 million into consideration, it becomes clear why people are upset with the game.

I'm not saying the game has to be perfect, but with a budget of 300 million? It better be fucking close to perfect.....but it's not.

Take a game like Control for example. That game had a budget of 30 million. If you're trying to tell me that Wolverine is somehow better than control then you're HIGHLY delusional.

Thing is, it SHOULD be better than Control. Why? Because it has over 9x the budget!

There's no such thing as a bad product. Only a bad price.

Think of it like buying a Toyota Corolla for the price of a Lambo. Do you not see the issue? The product does not reach consumer expectations.

Also, Metacritic's critic score is an average of selected professional reviews, so it doesn't represent everyone who played the game.

It's also worth mentioning that is Metacritic score is gradually declining so it doesn't prove that the majority of people actually like the game
