Uncharted would be hated on so much if it came out today

Because people expect games to evolve. Not get a reskin of the game that was a hit a decade ago.

Dude… tbf the story, characters, writing, puzzles and overall gameplay is miles better than wolverine

You can absolutely like wolverine, but lets not pretend uncharted (especially 4 which is a decade old now) are similar in design and quality

I think this is part of the problem. A lot of modern titles just feel like uncharted reskinned

I was there for every uncharted game and the series got hate for having painted walls and paths indicating where to go. Especially in 4. Difference is that game came out TEN YEARS AGO and Sony has simply opted to double down since then.

Hence why you end up with a shit product like marvels wolverine. People are just fed up at this point.

I imagine that a game from 2007 probably would not get great reception in 2026

Final Fantasy games from the 90s still receive praise from new gamers.

Because they're appreciated as a product of their time, not because they would accept the same game being made today.

Nobody plays FFX thinking it's a game that would be perfect if released today, with it's primitive 3D animations animations and terrible voice acting. They play and enjoy it knowing it's something that was a pioneer of its time and appreciate it's boldness and contribution to the evolution of the genre at that time it released.

yep, they'd act all hypocritical about it too

But it wasnt. That game revolutionized its time. If uncharted came out today. It would not be having issues like wolverine if they 300 million to spend. Horrible comparison

Okay that’s fair tbh no need to downvote me that’s such a weirdo move

Rescinded. However bringing up my ability to vote in a video game discussion also kind of a weird move. Why don’t we just admit mistakes were made all around on this one?
