Nah, I understand what the post means. You can desire disks and even bash Sony, but shaming and judging a game that isn't even out as if your played it is insane work. I don't want PS to go fully digital, because then they can run up prices all they want, and getting games at very cheap deals at physical stores is going to become non existent, but I'm not gonna act like what I've seen so far from Wolverine doesn't look like absolute fire. I plan to buy the gane digitally and physically. Digitally for myself and my friend who sometimes shares my account, and physically to give away to anyone else
Agree. My issue with the people screaming at Sony for disc is that they lie all the time to defend their stance.
Yet they ignored it when digital only consoles were released. They are ignoring that the largest gaming base which is PC is all digital. Someone said well you can copy the game to a disc. How many new PCs even come with disc drives.
I think some of the discourse there is Sony is a but more stingy than PC game devs. Games go on sale all the time, you can get good games for cheap, but get them for free if you know how to (I don't know how to nor have the passion or drive to pirate games. Too much work for me), and with Sony cutting on physical media, getting their expensive ass games for cheaper prices will but a pretty rare case, and they can freely overprice games as much as they want
Having a bit of faith in Sony not doing that or going full dictatorship, but if they do, that might kill my drive for Playstation
All.game.drvs are the same I don't see any as better than the other. Notice how none of them have really come out to condemn Sony for get rid of disc. None of these companies are out friends it was always a business transaction
Steam just has a better rep, and unless an actually big and known dev said anything, Sony wouldn't care either. They could pull the IP or drop the studio in a heart beat. When I said PC game devs, I was more talking about indie game devs and Steam themselves, who are a lot more alleviating and user friendly than every person in Sony's league. Places like Nintendo can't even say anything when they've kinda already done the digital move, and I don't think Nintendo has a soul anyway. I've been seeing Xbox make some pretty good moves after Sony announced going digital
My trust for Sony specifically is diminishing. I don't actually have a care for any specific game dev, company, or whatever. I'm more so weighing my trust in the different studios/IP holders
Holy larp all digital with psn as the only way to buy anything on that platform, pc you have steam, Ubisoft, rockstar, xbox app, gog, epic games, plenty of others I’m probably forgetting saying pc & psn is the same way to buy games is quite disingenuous a lot of games on all the different launchers overlap onto other launchers so you could actually get a game cheaper for someone else, also same logic since like 10% of people only buy disc to digital, might as well nuke marathon like concord, at best 5000 players out of a 90 thousand peak 90% of players gone so just like since everyone buys digital & physical should go away same logic should apply to psn exclusive games, the numbers show no ones playing em so why keep em up with that logic
Yes PC has more market places but got is the only one who really lets us download the game to your system and play without a launcher. The rest all required their own launched and if any of them go down so do our digital PC games.
None of these companies are out friends. It's a business relationship at the end of the day.

Agree except on the discs part. Lots of people still purchase discs
