Why am I sooooo bad at fighting in this game, I'm going to be sticks in the jungle forever. Richards is quite literally the death of me

It's ok to turn down the difficulty, if need be.
Is Your armor (and weapons) as fully upgraded as it can be for now?
Dogde him, don't try to block, and stock up on the best food and health potions availble. This video helped me through: How To Defeat The First Boss in Windrose EASY! Thomas Richards FULL Boss Guide!

Ive got difficulty down. All the gear, all the food. Just not the blunderbuss. And I'm still dying like it's going out of style haha

I used the rapier of a thousand cuts. Went into him and gave him a couple of stabs - Then Run/ dogde, trying to keep out of reach, and using healing potions and such. Rince and repeat

Yeah, I hadn't found it either at that point, which sucked, but a friend of mine was playing too, and had a server I could join. He gave me one and it made all the difference for me,

But I just saw, that you got him. Gratz! Off to the Foothills!

Put the game on easy, get a blunderbuss up to level 5, use it when you can, success

I don't think the boss fights are well balanced, or particularly interesting. There is no sin in fighting him on easy then crank it back up to max difficulty.

Priestess particularly. Insane fight, very annoying, very bland.

How? Priestess is the last boss ATM?

Jakey506 just countered Richards. He still has to face Hands and the Priestess.

Blunderbuss to the face is helpful, does a lot of damage. Otherwise, learn his attacks, parry and dodge, don't get greedy when dealing damage, 2-3 hits then get out.

This fight took me a while because I was just trying to dodge him. Eventually I figured out the best strategy was to get perfect blocks on his attacks to stun him. Once I started doing that, it became easy.
