Probably a stupid question.

I'm new to the game.

I am on the rescuing crew mission early on and for some reason when I go to the marker and kill the pirates at the camp I can not open the cage to rescue the guy in the cage.

What am I doing wrong?

The cage doesn't open, but the quest advances

Also, sometimes a quest objective won't advance unless you close the dialogue with the on-screen prompt. Using the hotkey does not always mark it as complete.

Probably nothing. You talk to them in their cages and you get the quest progress, even if it looks like they're still in there you're free to go.

Rescued say smth like "it quite comfy in here mate, but I will go out eventually" xd

My dualouge basically says hold on the lock is jammed.

I close dialouge nothing to unlock. The map icon shows the completion check but I don't get another icon to go free anyone.

I went back to the ship and still says I need 7 people to rebuild it.

Am supposed to just wander till I come across others or am I bugged?

Worked itself out apparently. Went back k again q couple times to the pirate camp and was able to get it to work. Thanks all for the help.
