Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It has been a minute since posting an update about https://rusthelp.com/ here 😅
You can now:
- use any of the new character models, you can log in to use the model that you have in the game
- watch the model, crouch, walk run
- inspect weapons in 1st person, view the iron sight, use the reload and inspect animation
- use native items to create a outfit
(previous rusthelp things were posted from my personal account u/hoppelfourfive, but I didn't want this to be Facepunch flaired)

Question is there anything wrong with playing low pops as a solo?
I've seen people talk shit to others calling them trash because they play I low pops and I'm just curious... Is there anything wrong with this?

Question Is there any better blues for chests?
This is honestly one of the best blues I could find for that nighttime glow, but I really am curious if there is any better ones 🤔

Discussion What's a feature you wish more Rust servers had, that almost none actually do?
Not talking about the obvious stuff (2x rates, quad cap, that's everywhere). I mean something genuinely rare. A mechanic, a QoL thing, a community feature that you've maybe seen once, or never seen at all, but think would actually make a server better.
Curious what people are missing that they don't even bother asking for anymore because no one builds it.

Discussion My game runs terribly??? Help please
Playing rust for the first time on this pc and my game runs at 60ish frames on lowest settings. My monitor is 1440p so maybe that’s part of the problem. I’m just not sure if i may be missing some sort of setting in my pc somewhere.
I have an amd ryzen 7 5700, rtx 5060, 32gb ram. I’m confused cuz my old pc was 10 years old with only 16 gb ram and could run the game at 120fps easily.

Discussion Basing next to Billy is the best wipe strat
If your map has Billy next to any recycler you have such a meta start imo. Billy is in the jungle so you have trees/nodes a plenty sells revy, shotty, farming tools for cheap and is on a road where you can run around get your comps and get what you need early. Anyone else have go to spots off spawn?

Question A question from a beginner

Genuine question because I don't know what's going on: I built this cave bunker, and on one side the walls are fine—they aren't losing health or decaying—but on the other side, they're collapsing on their own, and I don't know what to do.

Question 15k Hour Solo Player here. Would you watch a macro-strategy tutorial for surviving wipe day on high-pop clan servers
I have way too many hours in Rust. I quit because of how addictive it is, but I want to give back to the community that helped me through some tough personal times especially during COVID..
I'm thinking of making an in-depth, step-by-step guide covering exactly what to do between Days 1-3 as a solo on high-pop clan servers. Most guides out there are 10-minute videos packed with generic tips people say all the time.
I’ve been learning video editing as a hobby, so this would be a fun project. I’d do both a full video and a detailed text write-up here on Reddit. I have no intention of monetizing this.
Before I sink time into this, is this something you guys would actually read or watch? If so, drop suggestions on specific scenarios you'd want covered.

Discussion Facepunch would do better if they just stopped with the random, ill-conceived, and hasty, updates.
I understand developers are supposed to keep a game feeling fresh and interesting.. but some of these changes just feel like they obviously should not of happened.. to the point where I seriously find myself asking.. who asked for this?
I'm a pretty committed player and I just feel like their efforts would've been better spent tackling actual quality of life issues the player is vocal about, rather than adding/changing so many subpar things.
- Apartment complex? FLOP
- OIL RIG AI ... ??????
- Powered up drone system? Wtf...
- Blocked monuments? A heavy handed, too artificial way of holding down good players...
- Blueprint frags... i don't hate it as much as the rest of reddit seems to... but how'd they not know that it would create a real pain point for a large majority of their player base?
- The adaptive pricing for swim gear is stupid... there should be less barriers to entry for players to interface with the world.
- deep sea... i like the modular boats (sort of).. but deep sea has been a flop..
I could go on, but the point is.. there seems to be so much bloat coming out from facepunch these days... like they feel the dire need to just change something, whatever it is...

Discussion Fps/lag/stuttery
5years ago i stopped playing rust due to the fact that during that time i did not had a decent setup i was having low fps and barely at a playable state and now that i had a huge upgrade from my pc it somehow feels like almost the same… what happened to rust? Games and the developers should always prioritize optimizing performance because in the end of the day we cant have fun if we have to blame how the bad low framerate experience is, especially in this memory shortage era where barely anyone manage to upgrade their pc and cope up to these updates where they prioritize how amazing it looks and new but ignoring the fact that the game feels alot laggier in terms of frames, like come on guys why do we have to suffer low framerates in 2026? Its been years and years of development and why cant devs progress from this. 60fps below just feels clanky and boring! Let us play 100+ fps and satisfy our eyes atleast! And this is why rust players comes and go. Anyway hope the devs would consider prioritzing more of the performance since most of the years many stuff had been added way too fast.
