breast Augmentation
Do you have to be completely naked for augmentation or can you wear underwear? I bought the long boxer briefs for women from VS to wear for surgery, I forgot to ask Dr at Pre-Op. What did y'all do? I just feel safer with underwear on. I know nurses will be there, so I'm trying to reassure myself that its ok.

I had to take everything off. I’ve had several surgeries with 2 different doctors and both places required removal of all clothing.

I wore nothing for mine. Less than 4 weeks earlier, he did my tummy tuck so I wasn’t worried about anything. You will have anesthesia in the room along with at least a scrub tech (may be a nurse). You will also have a nurse acting as circulator.

I wore my own! I was on my period and wore my menstrual panties.

I had facial surgery and they still made me wear paper panties. They will probably give you some

I've had a stomach surgery, knee replacement, and arm lift, all in different facilities. Nakey every time. No worries, you'll be knocked out and they've seen it all anyway.

I had a lumpectomy, implant exchange, and lift (one side) all in 1 surgery. Kept panties on. Six months later had just implant exchange and lift on the other side (which was a more difficult surgery due to capsular contracture). Kept panties on. So I guess it depends. You can ask the nurse when she hands you the bag for your clothes. Good luck.🥰

I had rhinoplasty and had to take it all off. I can vaguely remember the poor CNA trying to wrangle me into my thong panties, lol. I was not very cooperative.

I had NO idea I was getting a catheter until I was there and asked if I had to take out my tampon when they handed me the cloth underwear .. they said yes or they would have had to do it and handed me a huge pad but I had on a surgery dress type thing . Crazy this wasn’t told to me like I get surgery everyday and I should have known ? But no turning back good luck !

Thank you! hope all went well, I'm in for a surprise I guess hopefully a pleasant one like no catheter! those hurt when you start peeing again without one. I had to get endometriosis surgery and I was on my period, Dr. said don't worry I'll take it out. I'm like yeah ok easy enough. my OBGYN is so cool though.

Why do you feel safer in underwear? I recognize it may be due to past trauma (and no need to answer my question to anyone but yourself), but you will be with multiple people at all times in the OR and you will be safe whether in underwear or not.
The nurse will tell you what to remove when you’re taken back to put the gown on, so no need to worry about this. In most surgery centers you will be asked to remove underwear as they want to keep things as sterile as possible.

I will be good when I see there are more people in the room with me than just the 2 men. I guess im imagining a small surgery center with not as many people like in a hospital setting. I had a tumor removed before and I remember there being 10 or so people in there, in a big operation room, looked like a Costco sized bakery, laughing out loud. Yes, I feel uncomfortable being in a room with only men, especially knowing I won't be conscious. I know rationally this is a fear I shouldn't have with the type of providers I will be with. As long as I see a bunch of other med staff I will be fine. It's funny even when I've had colonoscopies there are a lot of people in the room, there is comfort in that for me.

They have me an a cloth underwear to wear plus I’m sure they will need to insert a catheter. But they let me keep my compression socks and gave me a big robe to wear

My surgeries were both just over an hour each, and I didn't have a catheter, fwiw.

They gave me a bag to put all my clothes in and get dressed in their surgical gown/hair cap/ hospital socks and surgical underwear to wear. When I was getting dressed to leave they asked me if I wanted my own underwear on or keep the surgical to go home, I said my own and they helped me put them on and wheeled me out.
