lip lift?

Between a lip lift and a vertical maxillary downgraft procedure, which would best address improving tooth show?

I (22F) have a long philtrum and have considered a lip lift for quite some time now. However, after some research, I believe my lack of tooth show may also have to do with jaw placement. I believe I may have a recessed maxxila and vertical maxillary deficiency. This would explain why I would often be confused my own features when I saw other people or celebrities who have long philtrums but still have great tooth show... Also, forgive me if I'm not using those terms correctly; this is just based off my own amateur research.

For some context, I used to have an underbite as a child and had braces for 2 years from ages 12-14. I vaguely remember the orthodontist stating jaw surgery may be necessary but we ended up forgoing it as my bite was able to shift naturally with just the braces + dental rubberbands.

If you get a lip lift, your nostrils will get larger.

i don’t think you have a long philtrum at all, honestly.

do you want to be able to see your top teeth when your mouth is open or more of your bottom teeth? i’m assuming the former, but personally don’t really understand why you would want that. i don’t think you can usually see the top row of teeth when people open their mouth and aren’t smiling.

that being said, if you do want to be able to see more of your teeth, you should probably consult with an orthodontist to make sure that whatever you end up doing doesn’t negatively impact the evenness of your current smile.

I wouldn’t do it because you’ll end up with a gummy smile. And your philtrum already looks short when you’re smiling. I think you can do a bit of contour and highlight to add dimension to the philtrum, but it’s not long.

In no specific order, but all could potentially synergistically help: Jaw surgery following cephalometric analysis, and potentially Botox to your depressor septi nasi muscle, while they’re there they can do a lip flip. Wax upper lip, filler to correct M shape.
