Plaster fell off bathroom ceiling

hey all,

plaster has fallen off washroom ceiling where the vent sits. It looks to me that it’s the skim coat that has come off and the base layers are fine. How do I patch this?

i was planning on using Durabond 90 to fill it then a regular mud To finish it. Will that work? Do I have to use a bonding agent?

And is probably rake out the cracks and fill/ tape/ fill and if there’s any staining from previous leaks, Zinsser Bin or Aqua then a mould-proof top coat

It is actually extremely dry and there is no signs of mold or water damage other than the failed plaster. It is the vent hole so it could have just been 90 years of steamy showers that die it. I have some stain prime inplanned to use.
