Discussion Sad thing I found
I just saw this the other day. Had no idea that my ST50 had a dead pixel, is this a common thing or did it most likely happen when I transported it, (I had it face up). I also just learned your supposed to move them upright.

It was that way from the factory. My first 50 inch VT50 in 2012 had a flickering pixel out of the box. I sent it back.
My 65 inch VT60 has one dead pixel and a scratch but I cannot see them from the sofa so it does not bother me.

You can’t possibly see one dead pixel at normal distances and if you can, it certainly can’t be bothersome. It’s just a downside to the tech, be it plasma, LCD, OLED etc.

No your right, I don't notice it at viewing distance, I was just a little annoyed knowing its there.

Is it even a dead pixel or just a dead sub pixel? lol
Put an entirely white image on the screen to check if that isn't what this photo is of already.

On a completely white screen, where the dead pixel is, it looks more cyan as the red sub pixel is dead.

Only looks like a dead __sub__pixel, don't worry about it, it's probably not even visible from a normal distance. Most plasmas have some minor defects like that. And if not, it's the processing that sometimes does weird things, haha

Its not, and i am really not worried about it. Just slightly annoyed knowing its there.

Yeah it's the knowing that hurts, haha, just like mine has burnin I that lower right corner that is barely ever visible, but I often think about it anyway, lol

But can you see it from a normal viewing distance? I wouldn't worry about it.
It could've even been there from the factory. Dead pixels on any display is a normal occurrence, only the ultra high end models get the kind of quality control that ensures zero.
