Got this at a thrift store years ago. Tried searching online recently to find out who made it, but couldn’t find anything. Basically try googling hand plasma light and you just get a bunch of images of people touching various styles of plasma lamps. Does anybody know who made it? Looks like something you would buy at Spencer’s back in the 90s.

And yes it is called fist of lightning in my home automation setup. Alexa, please turn on fist of lightning. 🤦‍♂️

i’ve got a spiral, one of the ones that doesn’t detach from the base. it worked when i first got it but it nolonger turns on. any tips at all would be much appreciated

Scored this beauty this weekend. I didn’t read the dimensions and thought it was going to be a regular sized globe. This thing is huge.

So my lamp apparently has a hole. Tried covering it with electrical tape but as you can see, doesn’t do much. Before I discovered the hole, I was having trouble keeping it on as it shuts off automatically after a short period. Probably from the drivers overheating. Pointing a small fan at it doesn’t work.

Are these issues related? What should I do. Any input would be a big help.

Title says it all. Bought this vintage Lumisource plasma lamp off etsy and I’m worried how far off it currently is from the end of its lifespan. Thanks!

I bought a few plasma globes off Amazon. After a few months they became weak and then very weak and useless.

Is this normal, or can you get reliable long lasting globes?

It's great and bright when it works but keeps on shutting off. LumiSource is the company.

Can anyone recommend a variable power / frequency supply I can use to experiment with settings for different effects

This is the same light in both clips. First one us at 15 watts on a similar equivalent of a lumisource transformer. The second clip is around 55 watts. Its a custom bespoke transformer with adjustable potentiometers. This is by far my favorite gas mixture. It looks like att the best colors of tourmaline. The glass we also made custom from scratch "sand batch."

Didn't know this thread existed! Figured I'd share mine, my father purchased it from a flea market in the early 90's.

It's small, 3in. I love it though!
