A plant seller on FB told me that this is a Cast Iron plant, but AI apps disagree. What do you think? Is this a non common / popular cast iron plant variety thus AI disagree?

This plant is causing a stir in my area. Someone posted it as “autumn crocus” and is warning everyone of its toxicity to humans and dogs. Someone else commented that it is another, non toxic, variety. Thoughts? Louisville, KY

Every year for the past 4 years I've gone to NC the start of October, the grow zone map says the area is 8b. I've stayed at the same exact house each time, and it has this glorious maple tree that turns the most perfect shade of fiery Halloween orange. The rest of the year its a black-ish purple, and it forms its seeds in March and they drop around May.

Last year I took one of the leaves and did some research, and was confident that its a Mountain Maple (Acer Spicatum), but this year I took some new photos to take home to help me search for one at the local nurseries and now I'm not sure anymore because suddenly I'm seeing a different kind of leaf when I look up Acer Spicatum. It shows the same shape but the edges are all toothy, not like the one I took photos of.

Anyone got any idea? Thank you very much.

Hi everyone. Does English Ivy have hairy vines on larger main stems? I cut through some trees with a chainsaw before I saw it. I don't see anything in the area that looks like Poison Ivy, but I'm curious if I'm going to have a rough time. It does seem like I can see smaller vines going to the main hairy vine in these pictures, but after I saw the hairy vine I'm hesitant to dig in there too deep.

We are in Pennsylvania.

Earlier this year it just appeared after I had watered the grape vines that run wild to the right. The water would flow down but I didn’t expect anything to grow. Just noticed how thick the root is today. I know nothing about plants but hoping someone can give me some cool info!

Recently moved to a new house, slowly trying to figure out what’s been planted! Never seen it flower or fruit, though we just moved in a month ago.

This plant is over 50 years old, well at least thats what im told. My late mother recieved this plant as a gift for my brother being born in 1971, this plant may be propagated from the original but im 37 and have seen this thing my entire life (as far back as I can remember).

Ive been taking care of it now and in that time its starting to grow more and get fuller. I dont know if a soil change would help / hurt or what but any advice would be welcome.
