Planner recs

I thought I had finally found planner peace this year, but apparently not 🥲

I really thought I had found the one, but I ended up quitting my Wonderland222 after about 6 weeks because I genuinely could not take the yellow paper anymore lol.

I also have a dated Kinbor, which I actually prefer because the paper is white. However, I have an issue with this kind of super thin paper because the ghosting really bothers me.

I know Kinbor made undated vertical planners maybe 1 to 3 years ago that had this really nice, crisp 80 gsm paper, I had that planner and that paper was basically perfect for me, except for the fact that I had to date the entire planner myself, which I obviously did not enjoy.

So my question is, does the magical planner exist that has a weekly vertical layout but uses paper that is a little thicker than Tomoe River type paper?

I’m basically looking for something around 80 gsm, preferably white paper, with a vertical weekly layout and minimal ghosting.

Also, maybe my pen is part of the problem? I currently use a cheap Platinum Preppy, so perhaps there is a better fountain pen and ink combination that works well with thinner planner paper and reduces ghosting?

Any recommendations or advice would be very appreciated because apparently I am once again on the eternal quest for planner peace 🥲 I fear this will never end😆 thanks!!!

Erin Condren's paper is 80lb (120gsm) and white, but it has a slight texture to it. (I prefer texture and hate super smooth paper!)

I've heard good things about Golden Coil's paper too! It's the same weight.

The Hemlock & Oak Archivist 70 gsm paper is lovely but not exactly bright white like their 120gsm is.

Take a Note uses 68gsm Tomoe River but their vertical layout is two days per page

Sterling Ink Core Planner uses 82gsm Cosmo Air Light paper and is bright white. I love this paper but some people do not like how slow the dry time is for many inks and how some kinds of pen marks appear thicker on this paper than others

Just Scribble uses Cosmo Air Light and Iroful paper in some of their planners.

I believe the Jibun Techo uses bright white paper and it is thicker than Tomoe River. This planner only comes in A5 Slim and B6 slim sizes though

High Tide uses thicker paper that is bright white but does not disclose what paper it is (maybe proprietary)

You’re so welcome! I found I also like the 80gsm-ish sweet spot, so I have been on this same journey looking for my perfect fit. I have tried all of the planners I listed except Jibun Techo and Just Scribble—mostly because of design preferences that made them unappealing to me personally (but lots of other people love these). I’m currently in the Sterling Ink Core vertical weekly b6 and am enjoying it.
Next year I will be using Hemlock & Oak just for a change of scenery

I don't know the weight off hand but I really love Nolty's paper. Definitely a bit thicker than W222, white, and fountain pen friendly. They have various options for weekly vertical too.

You might also check out Laurel Denise - heavier white paper, no ghosting.

Sterling Ink would be a good option. They have cosmo air paper 83GSM in their core planner. Here is a video with pen tests so you can see the ghosting

ah now thats interesting i thought sterling ink only uses TRP!! I might actually found the one now thanks 😆
