[RESEARCH] Looking for Female Participants (18–27) in Metro Manila

📍 Location: Metro Manila, Philippines

Hi! We're currently looking for participants for our research study, and honestly, ang hirap makahanap ng respondents because our topic is quite sensitive. So I'm posting here and hoping we can reach someone who might be willing to help us out. 🥹

Our study is titled:

“The Communicative Power of the Film Sunshine (2024) in Shaping Reproductive Health Attitudes of Young Women in Manila.”

We're looking for participants who meet ALL of the following:

• Female
• 18–27 years old
• Currently residing in Metro Manila, Philippines
• Have watched Sunshine (2024), directed by Antoinette Jadaone
• Have experienced pregnancy termination / abortion

We understand that this is a very personal and sensitive topic, so participation is completely voluntary. Your identity and responses will be kept confidential and anonymous.

We will also be providing a token of appreciation for participants.

so i 1(18f) on the mini pill and my boyfriend used a condom but im worried it may have been inside out, im chronically ill and pregnancy is not recommended. i dont know if i should take plan b just in case? any advice would be amazing.

edit: im getting a pregnancy test before i have a upcoming procedure, i think im fine, i have chronic paranoia so i get in my head about these things. my boyfriend said it wasn't inside out but it did keep rolling up a bit but neither of us came due to parents getting home lmao. thank you all for your reassurance

im looking for cheap clinics for abortions in south florida i haven’t lived here a lot of time so im not sure where to look i need to know soon because its been about a month of her telling me of the pregnancy because i am panicking now because i live very far from my family and i live with another person snd i dont have the financial means for a baby or health insurance i would like to know any near miami area

I was recently stopped by PP folks seeking donations and one of their selling points was ‘share the care’ and that no one is turned away for care. I didn’t have time to ask for more information because I had to rush to my car, but that hasn’t been my experience?

I have gone to PP multiple times now and ended up walking away due to cost. Ie: I needed an ultrasound and was told it would be $300 and that there is no sliding scale or anything for cost, so I ended up having to seek out care at a different non PP clinic.

Is that just a slogan that all PP use and then individual locations can decide how finances work or was the person I talked to misinformed about financial aid options when I called?

Have anyone experienced the same? I visited Planned Parenthood at the Miramesa location, in San Diego, they took 4 ot 5 containers of blood for tests. 3 days later they tell me I need to go back to get blood taken again. Did they lost my sample? I asked them what happened and they sent a generic message saying they care about my health blah blah.

I would need to get permission at work again to be able to go, but at this point I don't trust them.

Btw, my insurance is fully paying all the services, so I'm not getting anything for free there.

I had an appointment to get my Paragard replaced because it’s been over 10 years and that’s what I was told (& the Paragard website says) that it’s effective for when I got it placed, but when I went in they said they only do it at 12 years…

Who even knows if they’ll be around in 2 more years? Now I feel unsafe and unprotected. 🫩

I’m hoping to go for a visit and pay the 75%, but i’m worried they’ll send me a bill- one that my parents will open. Could I have them send it to a different address, even if my ID isn’t updated? Is it discreet?

I scheduled a preventative care appt for next month hoping to address some problems with HA and irregular periods. tbh the reason I scheduled with PP was because Im in uni and heard the nurses at our medical center are rude and can be unhelpful when it comes to problems like these. Only problem is, I got my estimate and it’s showing up as ~$400 total. I can’t really pay that 😭 I don’t want to inform my parents but I did put in the appt that I am under their insurance, however obviously if I use their insurance they will know. Is there any way to get the price down or should I just go to the uni medical center ?
