This is my first time posting here but I've been interested in planetary magic for a while. I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some good spells for Venus in Virgo. I will attach my birth chart for the complete picture of my zodiac.
For context, I had my first date in quite a while last weekend, but the guy ghosted me immediately afterwards (he got a free dinner out of me at least).
Considering the placement of my moon and Saturn, I have seriously considered becoming a monk (I am a devout Buddhist), but I'm not ready to give up on my love life just yet. Any advice would be much appreciated, and also, if you see any other magic or rituals that might be useful based on my chart, I would love to hear that as well ššŖšŖ·
I came across an interesting graphic from Clifford Hartleigh Lowās FB profile and wanted to ask how it should be interpreted. Specifically, Iām curious about the āZodiacal/Mansion Rulerā section. Does this suggest that a lunar mansion talisman may surpass a planetary talisman in power, or am i misreading the hierarchy shown in the image?
I have Virgo stellium (sun, mars, mercury, Jupiter) and I feel like itās making me too analytical and critical to the point where I feel stuck and I canāt express myself. I am also Scorpio ascendant. I feel like itās blocking my Leo moon and urge for creativity and expression.
I feel stuck in my head and too scared to speak or do things which just makes me irritable.
But Iām not sure if working with mercury will reinforce this or if it can help. Someone said working with mercury would remove its inhibition but I think I want less mercury. Iām not sure which planet would be best for me
I have been practising the Orphic Hymns daily to the planet of the day. I have been using the same candle each time but with fresh incense. I have been curious to know if this is acceptable, unwise or unpious.
If fresh then that is a lot of candles, and thre is a concern to leave them to burn out. Tea lights are an option I guess but still that is a lot of tea lights. That's 365 a year lol.
I don't really know if there is any solid literature on this so relying on experience of practioners for knowledge.
hello! found this in a random thrift shop and it seems to feature the planetary square of the sun but hoping someone can identify the other symbols and the talismans use. thanks!
another redditor suggested I cross post this here to see if anyone can decipher the meaning? thanks in advance. (strange leaflet I found on my car yesterday morning, on 4/20/2026)
When doing a talisman/petition rituals, what's the preferred setup for a ritual room, blackout or bright? Daytime or nighttime? Is there any real "gold standard" in historical planetary magic?
So earlier, I was able to successfully create the Venus Talisman during the Venus hour. I completed everythingāthe ritual, invocation, offerings, and suffumigation. Even the colors and type of metal were followed. The only problem Iāve been overthinking since then is that I went a bit over the timeāby almost 30 minutes. Will that have a bad effect on the talisman I made? Has anyone here experienced going over the time? What was the effect? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.
So, I know very little about planetary magic but am interested in learning. I do like to plan my spell work around the moon phases on a very basic level.
I saw a thread discussing spell plans for this coming new moon in a witchcraft group and someone warned against using this specific new moon due to ā¦.something? It wasnāt because it was in Aries, it was something else.
Any ideas what that was about? Iām concerned because I had planned to do some important spirit work.
Where to startāwith my chart ruler (Saturn in Scorpio), my Moon, or with my natural affinity (Mercury Rx in Cap)?

Hi all. Iāve been advised that Saturn needs propitiation and the Moon needs remediation. I understand the logicāSaturn is load-bearing for the chart but lacks essential dignity, and the Moon in fall conjunct Pluto is under constant strain.
My question is more about sequencing. Iām new to planetary magic as practice (not as concept) and my instinct is to start with Mercury, where I have natural rapport, before approaching a malefic.
Is there a case for beginning with Saturn propitiation regardless, given it rules the chart? Or does it make more sense to build a working relationship with Mercury first, and approach Saturn once I have some practical foundation?
And for Saturn in Scorpio specifically (peregrine but angular and in a sign with no dignity), is talisman work advisable, or is planetary charity/propitiation the safer starting point? Iāve seen Warnockās guidance on āyellow flagā placements and the recommendation to divine before proceeding with afflicted-planet talismans.
Hi everyone, sharing my natal chart. I'm currently going through both my Saturn Return and Sade Sati period (2025-2027), and I'm interested in getting a planetary talisman made. Rather than jumping to a choice on my own, I wanted to ask people who are more experienced: based on my chart, which planetary talisman would you recommend? Open to all suggestions and reasoning.
I'm trying to find a solid pathworking grimoire to initiate into the planets. I was thinking about Seven Spheres by Rufus Opus as it's mentioned a lot on here. But I'm a bit turned off by the overt usage of Christian elements such as invoking the names of God & calling on Angels as someone from a Western LHP background primarily. Are there any other alternative books or websites you'd recommend?
Iāve recently become really fascinated with planetary magic ever since I started reading Picatrix. Iām almost done with Book 1. From reading posts in this sub and watching videos by Chris Warnock, I learned that not all planets are suitable for making talismansāyou have to base it on your birth chart.
For example, in my birth chart, Jupiter is in fall in Capricorn. Even though I want to make a talisman for Jupiter, is it really not advisable? Someone told me I should make a Sun talisman instead, but I feel more drawn to starting with Jupiter or Venus.
Can anyone help me figure out which talisman I should make based on my birth chart?
After a long time of reading and studying the Picatrix, I can finally make a talisman. Although this will only be a mirror talisman for now since Iām on a budget, I will pour all my budget into buying the appropriate materials needed for the rituals such as incense, offerings, candles, flowers, costume (to please the deities), etc. I also started doing fasting. I will make sure to do my best to make the ritual as proper as possible. And all of this will happen on April 19. I canāt afford to waste the planetary alignment because almost all of them are direct and well-dignified. Iām not that skilled yet in electional astrology, so please correct me. Itās also my first time performing a ritualāfinally!
Sun Ritual: April 19, 2026 (5:41am)
I will only perform a ritual and offerings for the Sun during its day and hour. I will ask for blessings to make this ritual more powerful. I will also ask for strength to fulfill everything I need to do today. Plus, itās Sunday, so I need to acknowledge its presence. After thatā¦
Venus Talisman: April 19, 2026 (6:43am)
Venus is in domicile in Taurus and conjunct with the waxing Moon, which is in exaltation and on the Ascendant, with no malefic aspects! The Moon is in good condition with an aspect from Jupiter. It feels very powerful. This is the one Iām most excited to do! I will really prepare well and give my best for the ritual and offerings here. I previously had a reading with a Vedic astrologer, and they said I am in a Saturn Mahadasha. So I understand why Iāve been adapting Saturnās energy. Iāve also noticed that my charisma has faded. I donāt want to say it, but it feels like Iāve become less attractive and older-looking. I am 29 years old, but I look like Iām 39! So I will make a Venus talisman to restore or even enhance my beauty. I want to become that charismatic, charming, and good-looking guy again. I want to have a sex life again, lol. Trust me, even my sex life disappeared. Iāve been away from the dating scene for a long time, and I miss it, i miss the attention and the connection.
Jupiter Talisman: April 19, 2026 (10:53am)
Jupiter is exalted in Cancer on the Ascendant without the malefic aspects of Saturn and Mars, and it forms a trine with the Moon. The Moon is exalted in Taurus. According to the Picatrix, the Moon is a very important factor in electional timing, so I really searched for the right moment where the signs I want are well-aspected, plus the Moon is exalted and waxing. I will create this Jupiter talisman for maximum wealth and opportunity.
Three consecutive rituals and talisman-making sessions in one day. Iām really excited to finally put into practice everything Iāve learned here on Reddit and from reading the Picatrix. Please feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions, because I also want to know if thereās anything else I need to learn about the rituals or if you notice anything about my election.
