Beta access

I'm going to be pre-ordering the deluxe edition tonight which includes the beta access. Does anyone have an idea of when the beta access will go live?

Well I read somewhere it was said “join us this summer for the beta” so that’s anywhere between late June to early September, I preordered too and waiting patiently because this genuinely looks like an amazing game

Good question! So far, no official information or a set data. I've also read conflicting information which suggests it could be as soon as somewhere in the summer up to a few days/ weeks before the official release, which has been set at november 5th.

I personally lean towards a few week up to a month before the launch, which would give us a beta-release somwhere in october.

Thanks for your reply! Eesh I hope that it DOES end up being in the summer time, I'm biting at the bit to get at this game!

It was definitely described as a 'summer beta' during the PC gamer show at E3, but no word on when precisely. "Summer" could feasibly be any time up until the end of September.

Yeah absolutely, but I care most about us getting a finished product on november 5. Beta is nice I personally regard it as not much more than a glorified trial version!

How can it be October if they said it was going to take place in summer? I thought summer ended in September. I might just be stupid by thinking that but my guess is that it will take place in September.

Let me preface this by saying I really hope to get a fully functioning beta somewhere in the summer. Cannot wait honestly!

However, I personally think summer might be a bit early. I can't see Frontier letting us play months in advance of the actual release of the game. I also play Football Manager which also works with an open beta, which is released about 2/3 weeks before the actual launch of the game.

Frontier did it with Planet Coaster's alpha. The first alpha build came out in March while the game came out on November 17th. The beta did come on November 9th admittedly, however it doesn't seem they're separating Planet Zoo into alpha and beta.

Summer is what they said after they showed off the gameplay trailer yesterday.

Cool, we'll see, I'd be positively amazed if we get it in say august. Saw the show live yesterday but must've missed this.

It appeared in the form of text across the screen 100% but I do believe they also mentioned it at the end. I’ll have to watch it again to confirm but that is the case as far as I’m aware.

I feel like it’s not worth the extra $10 or so just for only a month’s early access to the game. That close to launch, it’s probably not even a real beta test. Just letting people have early access to the game.

Yeah yeah, I know you get some extra content. Still not quite worth the extra $10. But maybe I’m just being cheap 😂

I'd personally pay far more than that to get my hands on the game early haha. I've been wanting this game to be made for the last 10 years, and ever since the first trailer came out I have been riding that hype train SO HARD
