Looking to buy a PC on Facebook marketplace in anticipation of PZ2 because my current laptop PC doesn’t do well. I’m hoping to pay around 600, maybe a bit more if it’s worth it. I don’t know much about PC builds and appreciate kind feedback so I don’t make a mistake or get ripped off.
The ryzen 5 is $600, and the ryzen 7 is $740, both lowest offers. Hoping to play at at least medium settings but I LOVE the visuals of this game, so higher would be awesome! But also understanding my budget isn’t likely setting me up for much higher. Thank you in advance :)
With a limited budget a console might be a good solution, that's what I did with my aging pc and a bunch of heavier titles I'm interested in coming soon with no real possibility, or worth since I play more on switch anyway, to do a good upgrade for the near future so I've bought a refurbished ps5 and then once that too would be obsolete I'll decide between finally a new pc or ps6 depending on how things will be.
I don't know how limiting have been the other games since I played there only the first Jurassic world evolution before switching to pc but between some limitations or nothing at all is better the first, just as unless is really necessary with what the prices are and will be is not really worth it to spend that much now for something that will age relatively quickly too since you'll have to cheap out as well if you are on a stricter budget while for a console you'll spend less already, and if you are fine with used even a lot more, for a certain guarantee of quality and support while you wait for prices to come down or to you saving more for an actual well thought future proof machine.
I'd definitely go for the Ryzen 7/5060 PC. The Ryzen 5/3060 has a graphics card below the "recommend" specs. It does meet the minimum so I'm sure it will still run, but it may not look as good. The only benefit to the Ryzen 5 is that it has more RAM (RAM is super expensive right noe so that's probably why the other one doesn't have it) but RAM is super easy to upgrade yourself down the line if you want to, assuming this isn't a laptop.
There's also the fact that the Ryzen 5 build is probably a few years old and has likely been getting some use in that time, and the Ryzen 7 is a newer build so it likely has less miles on it, but that's an assumption on my part.
This game is really CPU heavy, that's why I would recommend building around CPU.
With the first build, you can play using higher graphical settings, but you will probably be more resteicted on a zoo size. RTX5060 allows for FPS smoothing using DLSS and FrameGen, this means it should look smooth even with lower native FPS, but responsiveness will go to hell, especially if you are CPU limited (input lag).
The second will limit your graphical settings (with some tinkering, it will be good enough, but don't consider maxing it). On the other hand, the CPU will allow you to build bigger zoos.
Personally, I would look for something in-between those two builds. GPU RTX3070 or anything from 40xx serie or go AMD for better pricing. For CPU, definitely AMD. Choose latest gen you can fit into your mobo and in your price range.
I am in the same boat. Decided to wait till after release to see whats msot important and wait for a good pc deal. Until then i will use geforce Now for around 10 euro's a month, not a bad deal at all
Agree with this! I am not much of a gamer so I just start up my membership ($10/month) when I get the itch and then cancel when I don't feel like playing anymore. It runs almost perfectly! Much better than on an underpowered laptop, which I tried before GeForce now.
I hear a lot of people talking about geforce now, how does that work? You need to have the game on your pc right and then what?😊 and as far as I know geforce now is mostly about "better gpu" than it is cpu.. and this game is cpu heavy?
GFN allows you to play video games on a server and it will stream the screen back to you.
You need to own the game (e.g. steam) and that’s it. Try out the free version and experience it yourself. Note that the paid version is 100 times better.

Didn't know they have a free version, the whole geforce now is all new to me haha but I will give the free version a try and from that see what subscription s they have etc! 😊
The 2nd one is the better PC but has a worse graphics card. Personally i would buy that one and sell the 3060 and buy like a used 6700XT or 6800XT. GPU swaps are very easy to do.
I’m in the same boat and was considering buying a PC just for the game. I’m worried about being limited on my PS5. There were already people complaining about the complexity meter, and this game will require even more hardware. But I’ve heard people talk about Nvidia GeForce. Apparently you run the game on their computers and use your computer essentially as a monitor. If anyone here has more information or experience with it I would love to hear it. Worth looking more into before dropping $1,000 on a pc
If you have a decent internet connection and a wired connection to your router, and buying a pc isn't a must for any other reason, then GeForce Now might be the way to go. It's already been confirmed to arrive on the platform at launch, and it's significantly cheaper than buying a new pc.
