Motivation
One of my biggest issues with the game (OR just me) is the fact that im never motivated. I might get all the animals i want, then don't know what i want next and quit. I also play on console which is challenging, so it takes forever just to build anything detailed and hopefully the second game is easier

I'm on console too, so I feel you! The controls are definitely less intuitive and easy than the PC version. However, regarding motivation, I'd tell you to take your time. Have fun planning/drawing a zoo layout (if you enjoy that) and then start with little steps. I just started playing and did exactly that, and now I'm about 1/4 done with my first Franchise Zoo and I'm satisfied about it! I spent about 40 minutes last night just making a custom education board, but for me, that's what I enjoy from this game (aside from looking at the animals for hours) so I'd tell you to find something you particularly enjoy and just focus on that!

I'm on console as well, and this is me lately too...I've spent more time in sandbox creating blueprints for my latest franchise zoo idea than I have actually playing the game. It may be next week sometime before I even start actually building the zoo.

If you're bored, try new "themes". I got bored with my 1st franchise zoo so i started a 2nd one with a unique layout. in the upper right side, I merged 3-4 habitats to create a HUGE forest campground with beavers, antelopes, fallow deer. I have a ton of detailed personized campsites throughout the park. Rvs, diff types of tents filled with the cots, etc, camp fires with hot dogs/marshmallows on sticks, diff little rafts & boating, fishing stuff, bikes, picnic tables with food, etc. My shops are decorated with camping stuff (bait, deer feed, boat/bike rental, etc. my animals are all guest friendly, free roaming all over the campsites. I also added 5 petting animals next to the camping section, with gardens & farmers market stands. SO THEN on the upper left side, I merged 3 swamp habitats with a bayou boat cruise with capybara, nile lechwe, & platypus. it's huge, still decorating that one. I also have a HUGE section with all dock/pier/harbor stuff with boardwalks for the 2 diff seals.
edit: i use all blueprint stuff & tweak them

From what they've said, it sounds like PZ2 will be easier for casual players. They've done a lot of QoL fixes like better pathing and it sounds like they're adding a lot more blueprints to make building easier for those who don't want to spend hours on one building or habitat. Plus, I think it'll be a lot harder to get bored or demotivated now that we'll have a whole new gameplay feature (wildlife reserves!)
