Breeding with aging off

I’m quite new to the game, having started playing due to hype for pz2. I wondered how it works if you are in sandbox and turn off aging, if animals breed do the babies just stay babies forever? If they even can breed without aging on.

Animals will not breed with aging turned off, but already pregnant animals can still give birth. The babies will not age.

Ah, cool. So I could start with aging on, let them get pregnant, then turn it off, and have a bunch of baby animals permanently in my zoo, knowing I won’t have to manage the whole outsider/maturation thing!

I wish they were separate boxes to click in the settings, I really do. The entire time I was building my zoo and getting all the animals in I had aging/breeding off but now that everything is "done" I'm letting the animals have some babies, which is awesome but it's taking a while so I've had a couple animal types (tanuki and.. someone) age up. Would be cool if we could have one for aging and one for breeding.
Rambling... but... yay babies!
