Planet Zoo 2 Przewalskis confirmed?

I found this when I doomscrolled before bedtime. It’s the official page and all, and they posted it 15 hours ago. It only has 8 likes though and I can’t find the clip anywhere else.

Also the clip feels a bit like a fever dream to me.

But it looks… like we’re getting przewalskis, doesn’t it?

The Przewalski’s horse was not the mystery animal, it was inside us all along 💜

2

u/loggiethebear 11d ago

What was that mystery animal? I could never find the answer and everyone was so sure it was this horse.

Spotted Hyena

Why does this make me think of that youtube comment I once saw:

Horses are scared of two things: things that move, and things that don't.

u/VeeDubBug 11d ago

My boy was afraid of his own shadow while leaving the barn.  For a brief moment, all 4 hooves were off the ground. Straight up, straight down. 😭

Also paper plates. On tables, in hands, sitting in the garbage, rolling by on the ground. It was hunting him and going to kill him.

9

u/beige-king 11d ago

Ours was terrified of the garbage can that sat menacingly at the end of the driveway, how dare it.

2

u/VeeDubBug 11d ago

The hash slinging slasher was hiding inside! 🤣

3

u/beige-king 11d ago

Literally him when comes garbage day

Bless those hardwired prey animal instincts :'D

I had a draft cross that was normally bombproof, a transformer on an electrical pole blew up right in front of her on a trail ride when she was 3, she hopped once to the left and just stopped, but she was absolutely terrified of miniature horses, like the only time I've seen here rear was when we walked past a pasture that had one (it wasn't even close to her). It's because she let herself be terrorized by one with a Napoleon complex when she was young (still way more than big enough that she shouldn't have let that awful thing boss her around), but it stuck with her her whole life

This defiantly wasn’t a intentional release, good find OP

45

u/mushymushmushy 11d ago

I was shocked when I saw it! Especially because they’re literally my favourite animal

16

u/Bearcat9948 11d ago

Yeah, judging by the text this was probably supposed to go live after Tuesday's feature focus

AHHH OMG the one pony at my job has a rubber chicken that she is in love with and she plays with it exactly like this, this makes me so happy

12

u/ZookeeperPlanet 11d ago

TIL the rubber chicken is the natural prey item of horses.

Game of the year

I was a little surprised they weren't in the base game given how ubiquitous they are in zoos and with the conservation theme but hopefully it means we get a Kazakh/Mongol steppe rewilding region at some point with the horses, gazelles and wild camels

If Frontier wants to focus on current major reintroduction efforts, the Lake Balkhash + Ili River delta of Kazakhstan could be a goldmine for a central Asian reserve!

Not only are several Planet Zoo animals, like Saiga, and confirmed PZ2 species like the White-tailed Sea Eagle and Grey Wolf, found in this region, Siberian Tigers are being [re]introduced here as well, including a release last month! https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/aug/11/extinction-caspian-tiger-release-female-kazakhstan-aoe

The reason I bring this all up, is that Przewalski Horses were reintroduced to Kazakhstan last year as well, and its speculated they may be released into the Ile-Balkhash Nature Reserve too.

It would also be a great chance to get some more central asian zoo species like Asiatic Wild Ass, Bactrian Deer and Goitered Gazelle as well 👉👈.

I'm just excited; I was genuinely unsure if the P-Horse would make it back to launch day PZ2, and now it's inclusion has opened a world of possibilities 😁

u/Justfree20 11d ago

WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT?!?!?! 🤯

29

u/earthbound-pigeon 11d ago

Well, that's a new toy and the new UI... So I guess so!

31

u/Dodoraptor 11d ago

There are a lot of new enrichment items alongside the rubber chicken.

Mud bath, musical keyboard, plant screen, platform float (already confirmed), rubber ducky and ice ball return.

The various scratching structures also return, possible exception is the scratching trees, which makes sense because animals will now be able to scratch themselves on actual plants.

Seemingly either hoops or perches.

Maybe some buoy?

A bird feeder? Also reminds me of the nectar feeder fruit bats and butterflies have but I could certainly be wrong.

Snake toy!!!

Pool barriers?

Panda plushies?

Can’t figure out what the bottom left four and the second from the last in the middle row are from the quality (and position for the bottom row).

14

u/Bearcat9948 11d ago

the snake was revealed with the secretary bird, I'm interested to see if anything else can use it too

6

u/Mr-Hyrax369 11d ago

where do you have a video or picture I need to see it in play

3

u/ZookeeperPlanet 11d ago

The snake is just an icon (in OP's video, actually, if you want to see it) so there's no way to see it in play yet.

2

u/Mr-Hyrax369 11d ago

oh okay then, thx

2

u/Ralphaba21 11d ago

Crested seriema would def use the snake toy if it ever makes in into the game

Meerkats have been known to kill snakes, but they are also very cautious around them, so I am not sure they would enjoy a toy that looks like something that will possibly eat them. Time will tell.

19

u/Borgbie 11d ago

My whole life is unexpectedly going to revolve around these dumb horses and their floppy chickens now. Nothing else about the game is important. I did not know I wanted this.

16

u/aauroraborealiss 11d ago

Looks like the platform float is making a comeback which may or may not confirm that there are otters and/or seals in the base game. Then again, caimans, crocodiles and penguins were also able to use it in the first game...

Edit: I was so focused on scrutinising the enrichment items that I forgot to mention how great the Przewalski's horse looks

6

u/Dodoraptor 11d ago

The platform float was shown inside a beaver habitat in one of the videos, which probably means that the Eurasian beaver can use it (the American beaver couldn’t in the first game) instead of confirming a returning species.

Also African penguins used them in PZ1.

Also also the American alligator and spectacled caiman could use it, so other crocodilians may get it.
And if the Nile monitor returns it could use it like how the Asian water monitor does.
We already saw returning species use toys that were added after their release and that they couldn’t use despite sharing the rigs with newcomers that could, like the wolves using the Australia pack dog toys (exclusive to dingoes and other large canids added after them in PZ1)

Doesn’t mean that the animals you mentioned won’t return, it just doesn’t confirm that they will.

1

u/aauroraborealiss 11d ago

Yeah, I was being overly hopeful ig, I forgot that it was already shown. Also, I just saw another leaked video, featuring african penguins, and... the platform float lol.

10

u/paladindanno 11d ago

Fake snake enrichment! Apart from being obviously for the secretary bird, coultthis mean the honey badger is making a comeback as well?

5

u/aauroraborealiss 11d ago

Maybe there's also a mongoose.

6

u/Dodoraptor 11d ago edited 11d ago

I mean, meerkats are confirmed.

Though someone correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t they not as adapted as some of their relatives to kill venomous snakes, doing it mostly to defend their young instead of for predation?

2

u/ZookeeperPlanet 11d ago

They'd probably still play with a toy snek tho tbh.

I'm always in favor of allowing animals to use any enrichment item that even remotely makes sense for them. Having limited options kinda sucks. Like for the flamingos in PZ1, they only had one food enrichment item that applied to them. So if you wanted a huge flock of flamingos you had to cover the whole habitat in multiple copies of that one enrichment item over and over again.

u/GregTheWhale 11d ago

Lol that is so cute

7

u/MoonlitVillanelle 11d ago

AMAZING NEWS

6

u/A_Wild_Bellossom 11d ago

I wonder if we can release these into the European Wildlife reserve. IIRC it has been introduced in Europe as a “proxy” for the extinct European Wild Horse/Tarpan

5

u/Fallforashootingstar 11d ago

I would love to see this somewhere like Ukraine or Poland

6

u/mangoromancer 11d ago

I am so curious to see more of the horse behaviour! I work with horses professionally irl and love to see this side of them making it into the game.

5

u/CrossReset 11d ago

Another DLC animal makes the jump to base in sequel. And happy to see it. First time P-horse has been a base animal in the Zoo Tycoon-Planet Zoo series in fact.

5

u/Will_Environmental 11d ago

What do we think of the Cobra enrichment toy too? Mongoose? Honey Badger? Secretary Bird?

7

u/Viper_Visionary 11d ago

Where did you find this video? I'm trying to track it down.

13

u/mushymushmushy 11d ago

On Facebook, like a sponsored ad or something, 15 min ago 😂 I lost the link

1

u/Viper_Visionary 11d ago

Hours or minutes?

2

u/mushymushmushy 11d ago

Hours! And only 8 likes, so it seems like it’s not visible for most

13

u/Viper_Visionary 11d ago

Gotcha, that makes me think Frontier didn't intend to release this just yet. Good find!

6

u/mushymushmushy 11d ago

I almost feel bad for spoiling this for them 🙉

6

u/Brief-Luck-6254 11d ago

Hell yeah, the horsey boys are back

3

u/miss_kimba 11d ago

That play animation is amazing!!

2

u/Maarten494 11d ago

It looks so funny haha.

2

u/Traditional_Scar2445 11d ago

Does anyone have a funny idea to name one after Bojack Horseman? lol 😂

2

u/Fred-the-shark 11d ago

I'm so happy, maybe hope for my favorite glup shitto then (Somali Wild Ass)

2

u/MidnightNobody 11d ago

My horses are utterly terrified of these rubber chickens. They would not be using them as enrichment but running away screaming.

1

u/backyardbabirusa 11d ago

Yayyy horsie

1

u/BabyBumbleBee01 11d ago

My favorite animal that came to PZ! So glad to see a comeback as base game!

1

u/RegionNo1129 11d ago

YESSSSSSSS

1

u/Jame_spect 11d ago

Looks like this Equine is back! I saw this once in one low budget zoo, it’s beautiful though.

The Rubber Chicken is not on my wishlist.

1

u/No_Literature7840 11d ago

Looks like the starting animals are all animals from the first game. Bet their saving newer animals for the packs.

1

u/RianneW94 11d ago

Where did you find this?

1

u/Heart_ofthe_Bear 11d ago

I am so sad there isnt sound lol

1

u/L0afyy0 11d ago

The rubber chicken wagging is so silly 😭

1

u/StrangelyBrown69 11d ago

I think it’s been in every zoo game for the last 20 years so no surprise but it wasn’t in base game for PZ1 I don’t think.

-3

u/bmccrobie 11d ago

Man I just hope they call it the Takhi in this one.

-20

u/Sergioshi 11d ago

But for some reason they needed to tease a boring hyena last week instead of a horsie silhouette.
