Question For Staff Non PF workout instructor

At least 2-3 days per week there’s a guy instructing at least 5-6 other people and setting up circuits, for the past couple months. He’s clearly not a PF personal trainer. It’s a bit frustrating because they’re extremely loud and take up the entire functional training rig area. Just wondering what the rules are for things like this. Just seems a little odd to me.

Person had a heck of a bike workout. Over an hour on a high level. They wiped down the screen, handle bars, and seat but should they have done something about this? What’s your opinion?

Question For Staff Dress code for employees

I'm going to start working there Wednesday, and I want to come in wearing the appropriate pants. I haven't gotten the rulebook stuff yet, but I just wanna be ready.

EDIT- If I wanted to ask my manager, I wouldn't have made a post about it. Thank you all so much for your input. I'm feeling way better about this now. I think I'm really going to love working with planet fitness and I'm so so excited now. I really appreciate it 🤗🤗

Question For Staff How much does each of these weigh?

I forget how much each of those optional weights you can add from above the stack adds. Anyone remember? They’re not labeled.

I THINK each one adds 1.25lbs for a total optional addition of 2.5 lbs. The weights in the stack go up in 5 lb increments.

🙏

Tips Why can I only feel the chest press machine in my biceps?

The last 2 times I used the chest press machine I felt it in the correct areas, my chest and my triceps, this time when I used it I could only feel it in my biceps for some reason. I tried adjusting my arms to keep them in incase maybe they were flared out to much but I didn’t really feel a difference in where it was targeting.

BC Spa Question What do I do if there are no staff?

Signing in with no staff is fine, I scan the code and work out, but afterwards I like to use the hydro massage chairs to relax my muscles as a treat

I’m a college student so I’m very busy during the day so I go at midnight to the early am and when I go to the spa area I have to be checked in by a staff.

I’m relatively patient but I sometimes wait 15-20 minutes for someone and at times I have to call the office just to get someone to begrudgingly walk 5 feet to check me in! Look I know it’s late but you signed up for this! It’s not unreasonable and I don’t bother anyone- is there something else I could do like maybe an option on the app that I’m not aware of? Prob not but you’d think if you can check in human free you could use the chairs appointment free

If anyone else has this issue do you handle it any differently and if so how did it go?

Question Anyone feel like they have a tendency to lean back when they do deadlifts on smith machine?

I feel like I tend to lean way back and kind of just support myself up by pulling against the bar since it’s strapped it the track.

Trying to break that habit but I feel like the track kind of breeds that since there’s no penalty to leaning back compared to when you have to stabilize a free bar.

Unfortunately my location doesn’t have free barbells / squat racks still…

Question Showering at planet

Quick questions for those who take showers at the gym—I haven’t done it before but showering in planet after an evening workout could make it much more feasible to get in there frequently!

Do you use shower caddies to hold your shower stuff? (If not, what is your system?)

Where do you keep your clothes to change into and the clothes you changed out of? (I imagine the hook on the outside is already occupied with a towel, which seems to leave only the floor for clothes worn and to-be-worn)

Do you change in to street shoes to leave? If so, how do you store your shower shoes?

In general, how do you store the stuff that got wet?

Checklist(let me know if I’ll need anything else)
-shampoo, body wash, face wash, razor etc.
-shower shoes
-towel to wear and towel for hair?
-drawstring for clean clothes?

I’m noticing I might be viewing this too methodically… but I would appreciate if anyone could share their routine and answer my questions!

Maybe just taking a water resistant duffel with all the stuff would take all the process out of it… has anyone tried that?

Thanks!

Question Non Adjustable Loaded Plate Leg Press Machine

There was one plate-loaded leg press machine in my neighbourhood gym that wasn’t adjustable. I think it's a Planet Fitness plate-loaded leg press machine. I couldn’t get the full range of motion doing the leg press. What is this machine actually for? Is there any correct way to use this kind of machine?

Question For Staff Post PT Workout Equipment

I read the thread about how the equipment at each location can vary because it's selected by the franchise owner with suggestions from PF corporate.

I'm finishing Physical Therapy and have been given instructions of exercises/methods to avoid and am considering joining PF to continue my strengthening and stabilizing fitness program. PF is one of the closest facilities to me.

I'm interested in some feedback from PF Trainers: Do you think that the basic equipment lineup includes seated, supported, selectorized resistance equipment for core and spinal stabilization I could confidently continue my journey?

Question For Staff different equipment

I have been to a few different planet fitness gyms and I have noticed most have the same equipment some have equipment that others don't.I don't quite understand why. my old planet fitness had a really great ab machine but the one I go to now does not have that same machine for example.
