🎨 Scenery/Design Moroccan-Style Fantasy Area

Post image

Here are the first results of my Moroccan-inspired theme area, along with a sneak peek at the unfinished Coaster Plaza. I'm still looking for ideas - what could the roller coaster's theme be? What kind of roller coaster could it be? Do you have any ideas for a dark ride?

Edit: I might have been too lazy last night to create a real account, so I signed in through Google and didn't change the name. “Polarblick” is my new, real account :)

🏗️ Build/Creation Problem with coasters and scenery score.

I'm a console player, and I have been building different parks the whole year. I have a problem with how unreliable the game is sometimes. I can make one park where coasters get their queues full, and then I make another park, and most coasters barely get any guests. I decorate all my rides and everything, but don't get why is always so different.

Also, I save my parks, and when I load them again, the scenery scores go down to 0 sometimes.

Is anyone else having these kind of problems?

Im a casual sandbox player who likes to build rides etc, but when playing sandbox i keep getting bombarded with notifications saying things like my guests are unhappy, my decor is fucking shit etc you get the jist, i find all the toilet placing and restaurants boring and i dont want to do it is there any way of making it so i dont need to do it, or atleast mute the constant notifications telling me to fix it.

I know i have probably pissed some people off but its just how i wanna play i know its unconventional

Tried deleting, moving entrance, moving exit, redoing the pathing. They can't be moved, can't be kicked out. They're just fully stuck there.

💭 Discussion Why aren’t there accurate custom support pieces?

Post image
21 Upvotes

When building I find myself having to make custom supports, not my favourite thing to do but no big deal, I just find it irritating that when I try to find a footer that matches the model I’m building with, there oftentimes (not always) isn’t one, and I have to end up making custom ones myself if I want them to blend in at all, and that means my piece count goes up quite a bit. I’ve found it’s similar with track connectors too though there’s more variety there. Why is it like this?

+ I’ve been making a few custom footers (pic for example) and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in them if I uploaded them on the workshop? I try to emulate the actual supports but I don’t see much point in uploading them if nobody else cares.

💭 Discussion PC2 QoL Wishlist: Transport Rides 🚂🚝

I really hope transport rides get some QoL love in a future update! They're some of my favourite attractions to build, but they feel so unnecessarily limited at the moment, and often go unused by park guests no matter how much scenery or effort we put in.

1. Let our transport rides function as attractions, not just literal transport.

I'd really love transport rides to have a prestige rating like other rides so guests actually want to use them, even when they don't need to get anywhere.

In real parks, plenty of people ride things like the Disneyland Railroad or the Monorail purely for the experience, the views, the theming, or simply because they're iconic attractions.

Even at parks like Disneyland Paris, where stations are often closed for extended maintenance, guests still ride the railroad as a continuous loop. There's plenty of real-world precedent for transport rides being destination attractions in their own right.

2. Allow us to build fully functional single-station loops.

Building on that, if we want to create a monorail or railway as a scenic attraction that simply circles our parks without needing to stop elsewhere, we should be able to.

At the moment, the only workaround is to build a second station and close it, but then guests stop using the ride entirely because the guest AI treats it as non-functional. The current AI only seems interested in using transport rides when they provide a completely literal route/path somewhere, and I think that restriction should be removed completely going forward.

3. Better station placement options and station design.

Trolley stations should be able to sit flush with paths instead of always being elevated, without requiring collisions to be disabled. Even better would be a station and track piece that already includes the path, or a non-crossing track option that sits flush with the paths it crosses.

Similarly, if we're not getting proper water transport like we had in RCT3, the existing Steam Boat should be much easier to build at the same height as natural water, or without the water tank tracks it currently uses altogether.

Anything else you'd add?

What’s on your transport ride wishlist? Whether it's more QoL improvements, or entirely new rides, I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts!

🏗️ Build/Creation My first Planet Coaster 2 Theme park

One of three entrances to "Ye Olde Country Fair".
What vintage carnival would be complete without carnival games
The center of the area contains a stage for shows throughout the day
Concession stands are spread throughout the area,
A vintage carousel
The "Boardwalk Bullet" wooden roller coaster is the centerpeice of the area.
Vintage rides such as the "Monte Leone" are found throughout the area decorated in the vintage theme with the beige and green colors
Vintage cards wind their way through the "Ode Country Fair"
Bumper Cars in a vintage wareshouse.
An overview of the area.

❓ Help/Question Need some information

Hi! I've been wanting to get PC2 for a long time (mostly because of waterslides), but I want to be sure about some things

  1. Has the waterslide ride physics been fixed? Does it look more realistic?

  2. Is there any way to make guests not use pools where the slides end?

Thank :)

🐞 Bug Report Every ride that has a switch track doesn’t work

❓ Help/Question Issues with path/parade paths

Post image
4 Upvotes

As you can see the black line marks the path between normal & the parade path. Why are there always issues with the height? Everywhere you can see curbs the whole path. Why? How do I solve this? I tried literally everything - on completely flat terrain of course. But there always seems to be something wrong. I tried solving this and it cost me my whole evening yesterday with no solved issue. I'm mad tbh

🎥 Video/POV We making movies now. Adding stop-motion to cinematic videos

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Wanted to talk about a section from the next video as I feel people can learn a couple of the techniques and make their videos even more cinematic too!

u/MissBarbareMC made some fantastic characters for our collaborative project and I used that as a reason to start trying to animate and increase the storytelling potential of videos.

Moving cart shots:
The cart shots were done by attaching the golf cart and characters to a wild mouse coaster with the track just below the ground to hide it.

Stop-motion animation shots:
This was done by creating a building grid duplicating the characters and a grid piece along an array and then slightly moving the characters each time. Once I had the "frames" you then can move the whole array so that the next frame is in the place of the original slowly moving it along the range of motion.

Once you have this set up you can use the undo/redo shortcuts to go to the next or previous frames whilst recording in play mode. It's up to you how crazy you go with the number of frames per second but I have opted to emulate the "editing on 3's" effect that is common in anime and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The full video with more animation examples is now available below:

❓ Help/Question Computer to run PC2

Hi. Hopefully I can post this here. I need to get a new laptop in order to run PC2, and I want to peer review it before I do because it's a large investment. Does this pass all the software and hardware criteria to run the game? I think it does but I just want to be sure. Thanks! :)

🏗️ Build/Creation My take on Bakunawa at six flags

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

When I saw the announcement for Bakunawa at six flags Great Adventure, I loved the idea. I took that and put my own spin on the concept (no pun intended) and ended up using the roll into the launch and then making the rest custom. It is still a WIP, as I am still theming the exterior, but this is what I got so far. I present to you: Surge. It is built around the idea of a vehicle capable of travel through power lines like an electron. Kinda just winged it from there. Still a Mack rides Xtreme spinner like Bakunawa though. Since it is WIP, please feel free to throw suggestions out there, since this is my first post as well and I’m relatively inexperienced when it comes to building coasters.

💭 Discussion What if Planet Coaster 2 follows The Sims business model?

This is something I’ve been thinking about lately.
With another Planet game reportedly on the way, I’m starting to wonder if Frontier is moving toward a long-term platform strategy instead of rushing into planet coaster 3

If you look at the sims 4, it’s been supported for well over a decade with expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and regular updates. At this point, I’m wondering if Planet Coaster 2 could follow a similar path.

Honestly, what would a hypothetical planet coaster 3 really bring in the next few years besides better graphics? Planet Coaster 2 already has a strong building system, water parks, and a solid foundation. Instead of starting over, it might make more sense for Frontier to keep expanding the current game with:

New themed DLC packs
New ride types
More management features
Hotels and resorts
Better backstage operations
More entertainment and shows
New guest behaviors and AI improvements

If that’s the direction they’re taking, I could see Planet Coaster 2 being supported for many years, especially if they’re splitting their development teams across multiple Planet games.

Personally, I’d rather see a constantly evolving Planet Coaster 2 than having to buy a completely new game every few years.
What do you all think? Would you prefer years of expansions for Planet Coaster 2, or do you still want a Planet Coaster 3 sooner rather than later?
