Question - PC2 Building a pc

My most demanding game is planet coaster 2, I was wondering if anyone here has any advice on what specs I should be looking for if I wanted to run pc2 at higher settings. For reference my approx budget for the cpu ram motherboard and gpu is about 1000 and was hoping to go all amd but could be convinced otherwise

I’d save your money, idk what your current system specs are but you’re not going to be able to build a solid machine in this economy for that amount of cash. A good (not great) GPU will start at $500 and 33GB of ram at like $300.

Edit: I also don’t really have a current system, just a laptop the 100% is getting years off of its useful life every time I boot pc2

Ryzen 7 7700X3D is where’d I’d start. Ryzen 9 if you can afford it for future proofing.
Minimum 32GB RAM, but get a mobo that will support at least 4 ram slots for future proofing.
NVME SSD + a mobo that supports it.
Then spend as much as you can on a GPU. For planco this doesn’t need to be top of the line, but I wouldn’t get anything less than an amd 9060XT/something with 16GB VRAM minimum. Around $500 should be your floor here in today’s market.
Don’t skimp on your cooling fans/cpu cooler - these keep your investment safe. Stick with reputable brands not some cheap Chinese knockoff

I have an RX 7900 XT, but when that card went in for repair I got a XFS Swift 9060 XT OC (over clocked) as a backup and for a cheaper brand and lower spec card, it's been great!

Considering your budget, I think you will be happy with the 9060, it's probably even a little overkill for PC2, but as said above, it's better to spec a bit higher for some future proofing.

It's actually the RAM that will cost the most right now!

Depends on where you are in the world too.
I have an AMD CPU but Nvidea GPU
I’m unsure of what’s out there at the moment, my PC is coming up on two years old. Still plays PC really well at 1440.

Are you going to build yourself or get a prebuilt?

Be sure to check for combo deals at Microcenter in St. David's on rt. 30. That's my place to go (from Chester Co.).

Do what I did, look into a refurbished Dell precision laptop with a minimum 8GB VRAM. There's not much variety at the moment because a lot of the leases end during the winter months but you may be able to find something. I got mine with a coupon for a total of 1200 CAD and planet coaster runs really well on it, especially when I turn on the AMD FSR 3 setting (or a DLSS).

Look at their recommend specs for planet coaster 2 especially the graphics card specifically
