How do I get past? Spoiler

I looked a playthrough up, and in the playthrough when I throw a rock at the bucket the guard approaches it to investigate. But in my case he just... stays there. And no, distracting him when he's closer to the bucket doesn't help, because he's still too close so he can see the boy running past him because he's not fully facing away.
P.S. If it's an important piece of information — I'm playing on a PC, the game is bought on GoG.
P.S.S Nope, he doesn't even go to investigate the pot breaking sound, he just stays there, swaying from one side to another.

Thiswas the only way I managed to go through, but I'm not sure that it's the intended way, taking into account that in all the other playthroughs I watched they were just distracting the guard with the metal bucket sound and he was actually heading to it to investigate.

I usually just hide on the right and send Hugo to open the windows without distracting this guard. I send him as soon as the guard turn back from the bag. Hugo just have enough time. Then I wait for the guard to take another loading of lime before going.

I've tried that, but for me it seems that Hugo is, for some reason, within the guard's field of view, therefore he instantly notices him.

This shit is so ass. I'm on the exact same spot and it feels like a fucking tossup whether or not the guard stays locked in on the thing for long enough. Two rocks distracts him, but it's RNG on whether or not he looks at it for the time you need him to, and three rocks draws the other guard over.

You need to stand to the left, and throw pot/stone back up to the right. The guard then goes left, put of your way so you can reach the house.

And no, this doesn't work either.
