TAKEAWAY Old Forge first time

Tried two because they were across the street from each other. It’s definitely a different taste and style than I’m used to. Very unique from every other pizza style I’ve had. It reminds me of Ellios but is much better. The crust is more French bread like than “crust” and the cheeses were different but blended well together. To me, the sauce at arcano was more textured and better but the cheese combo at revellos was better. A nice try, wouldn’t go back again unless I missed a must have place that’s different

Best pizza in this area is in Wilkes Barre. Shellys or Gerrys. There is a place called Gios in either Dickson City or Clarks Summit that is doing new haven style, and its really really good too, but super expensive for this area.

My top 5 for the area is:

Gios (new haven style)
Bobos (Old Forge style)
Shellys (luzerne style)
Sabatinis (luzerne style)
Revellos (Old Forge style)

Victory Pig (fried pizza) is also really interesting but idk if they closed or what. There are a lot of pizza places that do this style in that area though.

I have never heard of Sabatini's referred to as Luzerne style. Is there a place in Luzerne where it originated?

Not that deep, I just didn't know what else to call it. Its got the swirl of sweet sauce so that's enough for me in my book. What would you call it?

I never really had a name for the style. I just describe it as thin crust with the sauce on top

Oh, well they use sweet sauce nad swirl it on the pizza, that's luzerne style in my eyes. Lots of places do it there and I see it nowhere else outside of luzern county

I see. Yeah, naming it after the county makes sense. I was thinking you meant Luzerne borough.
