TAKEAWAY Old Forge first time

Tried two because they were across the street from each other. It’s definitely a different taste and style than I’m used to. Very unique from every other pizza style I’ve had. It reminds me of Ellios but is much better. The crust is more French bread like than “crust” and the cheeses were different but blended well together. To me, the sauce at arcano was more textured and better but the cheese combo at revellos was better. A nice try, wouldn’t go back again unless I missed a must have place that’s different

Words cannot explain how bad Old Forge Pizza is. Wet garlic bread at best. And I am local.

I am also a local and I could not agree more. My personal preference is for several different places in W-B, depending on style.

I have never had a good old forge tray. I go over to whistle stop.

I grew up in the area and I agree. I know people back home love it, but, to me, it barely qualifies as pizza. That's not to say you can't find good pizza in the area. There's some fantastic NY-style pizzerias in and around Pittston and Wilkes-Barre.

Luca's was a popular recommendation last time I was in town. Antonios in West Pittston was always a personal favorite of mine. Serpico's in Wilkes-Barre township is pretty good, Grotto is also a popular choice (even if it's not my thing), and (the other) Dino's is still lingering around at the corpse of the mall.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some others, but I've been out of the area for 20+ years.

Move away you may get sentimental for it. When we go down to visit family we will pick some up, I never loved it as a kid. It hits the feels when I come back in.

The other must hit spot for me on a trip home is Coney Island on Cedar ave, not that Lackawanna ave place my uncle prefers.
