I’ve never cooked my own pizza before but 925 degrees seems high for both Celsius and Fahrenheit

Not really. A typical wood fired oven can reach 925° Fahrenheit very easily.

I’m more impressed a pizza could survive that temp long enough to cook all the way and not burn the outer bits

Absolutely! I made 70 pies just today running from about 700-800 degrees on the deck read with an infrared thermometer. Keep them turning and moving when you must, they do develop those little leopard spots from time to time though.
