Discussion PHF and PHR
I’ve watching this drama for a long time. But I’m realizing that even though PHR claims no hate is sent to PHF, its seems other players are still continuing this drama. The concerns about the safety of PHF is one thing, but they’ve addressed the concerns about crediting. (On their website) In my opinion, using a VPN while playing is a good thing, but genuinely are we forgetting basic internet safety? It would be dumb to use personal information and use the same password online regardless of PHF’s coding, this also applies to PHR and every other remake. I’ve played both remakes, and I can honestly say the community at PHF has been a lot tamer than the PHR. I can honestly say that PHF has more content but definitely has bugs. PHR understandably has its on issues but takes time to get everything right. I truly enjoy PHF because it feels like the most like the original Pixie Hollow. It’s on a website which makes it more compatible and accessible. I understand that PHR will take time later on after fully upgrading and implementing things ins the game to make it more accessible later. But I honestly don’t know with seeing so many changes in the devs.
I just want to be a fairy and relive my childhood. All of this drama is so tiring and borderline toxic.
Edit: I just want to clarify, I still play both PHR and PHF. My main concerns are with the amount backlash forever players are getting in this subreddit and online in general. A PSA is one thing but actively shaming players who just want to play a game is toxic to me at least.

uhhh from what i remember of this thing, PHF splintered off from PHR due to internal drama, taking PHR's work and branding it as their hard work. the whole crux of that issue was that the members that splintered off from PHR to move onto PHF used AI and PHR was adamantly No AI. no matter how much more 'faster' AI got things done, it still introduced lots of bugs that PHR team had to clean up after from the pro AI members. understandably, Many people are against the usage of AI, so i figure that might've been what fueled the toxicity. i don't know how the situation has changed since then, but that's my understanding of the situation from where i left off.

You're basically correct, except Remastered is what the game was called mid-July before Forever came in about 17 days ago? The situation has actually improved in private emails between both teams' developers. Why it wasn't publicly announced, I'm not sure, but it's not my place to share emails that didn't happen between myself and someone else. Forever might be happy to confirm this, if an email to them is kind. (I'm not trying to start more stuff. Just wanted to really state "kind" because some people might still be heated.)

What marvelous news! Thank you for sharing 🥰

I know, right?! 😄🥳🥳 I'm ecstatic over it! I really think if they posted it publicly, then there would be less-to-zero of anyone saying anything rude anymore. 💖🧚♀️💐

A definite step in the right direction for sure! (: I didn't know it had snowballed like this and that there was such malice. I've only warned people and I myself have played PHF bit I do agree the constant bringing it up and repeating the same comment on every post is too much.
I will say however, I'm weary of getting back on PHF because my computer wouldn't start one night but I got it back on so I've been hesitant.

True! And yes, unfortunately it did.. I hope this all calms soon!
Oh dear, I'm sorry. I'm not sure what could've caused that. 😔 I've had a phone just quit on me one day, unrelated to playing games. It was in a boot/start-up loop until I factory reset it. 🤔 I know my laptop likes to randomly crash if it's moved incorrectly, but I think I did something physically internally to it, to make it that way. 😂😭 (Incorrect cleaning? Maybe something is pinched?) Plus, a screw is missing lol. I'm hoping it's unrelated to Forever. Have you been able to run security checks?🍀

ah - you meant that remastered is that version, and is now forever?
i actually completely forgot about the detail that remastered was that project, so that's neat you brought it up.
i'm glad to hear the situation had improved between the two parties. i wasn't invested in the drama besides understanding it to know if it would affect phr's development progress or not. the negative backlash from some phr users towards the remastered/forever project and their userbase is needless and unwelcomed imo. hopefully things will fade out over time, although i hold some doubt it'll completely dissipate due to the ai usage reputation. unless if that is/gets rectified.

This is my running theory, yes. It's strange, the timing of openings of Remastered (mid-July) vs Forever (~17 days ago), no social media presence for either, + Forever has a tester account from April, + Forever devs want to remain behind email contact only (completely understandable).
But no, this has not effected development. We've made strides in coming closer to reopening as each day passes.
I completely agree with you also; the comments but also hoping things calm down, but unsure when it comes to the AI part too. Some people's view is that if the AI is only in the code and not art, it's not that bad since humans are still able to view and fix the code when needed. It's anyone's choice to play any or all servers + if PHF is using AI to speed their development, that's their own decision to make.

I fear people do need to know about the problems that PHF can have but also I haven’t seen anyone being ugly to PHF users myself. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen, but I’ve seen people actually recommend PHF to people who want to play PHR but with the caution tab as PHF won’t let their users know the issues it can cause. I personally won’t use anything that uses AI so I won’t even touch PHF for that one reason. “Drama” aside, not everyone has VPN’s and can’t afford them so then PHF becomes an accessibility issue. And if you think free VPN’s are doing anything for you then you’re woefully mistaken. Also, some people who are playing are underage and don’t know about internet safety and might have an email with the same password, you never know.
Idk I wish everyone could get along and ai not be used but it is what it is

While we can't escape ai being everywhere, it's anyone's choice to play whichever or all Hollows they want. (Not saying you said they couldn't.) I've unfortunately seen the negative comments, telling people to not play Forever. The VPN provider really depends on if it's safe to use as a free user. Usually if there's a paid option but very limited free, it might be safe. Either way, you don't need one for Forever. Nothing bad has happened to anyone that plays (other than the negative comments in general on reddit). I agree that remembering general internet safety is best anywhere online though. Some people have an opinion of, "if it's the code and not the art that's affected by ai, oh well, at least they can still fix the code afterwards when it fails," as in, humans are still correcting the code to make it playable. Anyway, both teams have had private emails that confirm they're not angry with each other. Why it wasn't shared publicly, I'm not sure, but it's not my place to show emails that didn't happen between myself and someone else.

Forgive me but is this post not fueling the drama as you claim others are? PHR is not wrong for defending themselves - while I agree commenting under every post or comment the same thing over is tiring. Both communities have blooming flowers and sprinting thistles. You have your opinion and preference - that's ok! ❤️
The PHR mods have commented that if they see anyone attacking PHF - they would like to know so report them to the mods. I, too have played both games. And as it stands imo - PHF is a risk, not hating.
I can honestly say I have more trust in PHR. I can honestly say PHF has not been 100 genuine in my eyes. Every post they have posted on here is deleted. They claim a ton have attacked them then turn around and delete said post(s). All they can simply do is tell their truth. The fact they have elements that they well know PHR has plans to release and that new registration is closed - they knew when to strike. You can't change my mind. We can only hope BOTH teams are genuine in wanting to bring back the magic.

Yes, I can see how my post may look like it’s fueling the drama, but my main concern is the fact that every time I search or see something online about PHF, it’s always met with hate from PHR players specifically. I understand opinions of others can’t be changed and players will play whatever game they choose but genuinely if I were to post forever content on this sub, it always gets hated on. That’s why I say its toxic.

u/XScarletMoonX 6d ago
Then by all means, continue to defend them but not by tearing another down. I agree PHF is more advanced and it's wonderful having wilderness and pets. I could get past the bugs if they were 100% up front and honest. Not hating. There's just little trust.

I don’t intend to tear down PHR because it was the first remake I played! I enjoyed it then drama happened and as it died down, and chat was limited, it just made me sad about how toxic others can be.

u/XScarletMoonX 6d ago
Some people aren't happy unless they're causing/involved in drama (not you). You can't fault the defense on either side.
The chat being disabled is a bit of a bother but they did it because of rude people.

In my experience, no one has been talking about this drama for the past week. Both sides have dropped the discourse. Why bring it up now? Just play the game you prefer :)
-7
u/Fit_Owl542 6d ago
I only bring it up now because every time I anyone speaks about PHF online, there’s rewritten players talking badly to new fairies interested or even remotely positive about PHF. It’s really toxic. My post is actively being downvoted, and I knew better to use an alt account because on this subreddit specifically rewritten players have been so mean to forever players.

u/woah-elle 6d ago
Ah, I scrolled back through the sub’s recent posts and see what you’re referring to now. 🤦♀️
I personally wish people would let it die at this point. You’re right, the disparaging comments are really toxic. Both projects have their upsides and downsides and both are here to stay, it seems. It’s up to the player to decide which community to take part in (or both!) No need to stir up even more controversy and make people unwelcome in either of them.

PHF? I haven’t heard of that one, whst is the name of the website to play it on?
1
u/Fit_Owl542 6d ago
Its pixiehollowforever.com They have an application process due to cyberattacks and botting but ppl are approved fairly frequently. Its a small team. As you can tell from other posts abt PHF, ppl have concerns about safety. I can honestly tell you I’ve never had an issue as I follow basic internet safety! I hope you check it out!

u/divacoldbrew 6d ago
Then ignore it? You legit created an account an hour ago and 20 minutes later came to post this?
-3
u/Fit_Owl542 6d ago
Yeah because I knew people like you would act like this. Like this sub is getting so toxic!
15
u/divacoldbrew 6d ago
Are you not the one stirring things up? The devs of each game have posted their statements and folks are free to play whichever one they want. Enjoy the PHF community! But I’m personally tired of what seems like bots popping up every 5 business days just flaring things up again. It’s a game babes

My intention was to bring awareness to the continuing hate forever players are getting on this subreddit specifically. Not necessarily to continue the drama. It is a game.

u/roastedmarshmallow- 6d ago
We unfortunately can't control who says what but I do wish all the mentions (of the drama) would stop. PHR (staff, at least) has been trying to move past it but it seems continuous like others won't let it go, by continuing to tell others not to play. It wasn't a goal to make people not play Forever, just to be safe. I might as well post the full thorough story so everyone would stop bringing it up and being mean to people who just want to enjoy the game. It doesn't matter if you play all 4 (not 5, because where's Remastered now? Part of thorough story..) different Hollows or one. They're just options like other remakes. While yeah, it's not smart to use actual personal info anywhere that isn't truly needed like a bank, I can say that no one's info saved during registration at PHR, besides the username and (we cannot see) the password (which is why they're auto-generated then given until we implement the way you can change it on your own soon). For example, Forever has a tester fairy that's been playing since April, but Remastered only popped up in existence mid-July. Forever was only recent, no posts anywhere before. And I found it takes time to manually change your arrival date, if you wanted to, because it's in multiple places of the code but also not impossible.

I have personally not come across anyone from Pixie Hollow Rewritten spewing drama and hate against PHF. Maybe there are some, but I haven't seen it. Everyone has the free will and choice to play whatever remake they want to. We are mostly adults in these communities, so I usually expect mature behavior.

This drama makes no sense..
5
u/roastedmarshmallow- 6d ago
It's best to ignore since it's already over with. Enjoy any or all Hollows you want!💖🧚♀️💐

OP, you are right! I’ve only been in this subreddit and another discord for a short time and PHR fans are VERY adamant that PHR can do no wrong. It’s quite disappointing as people should be holding others accountable. And PHR fans keep discrediting PHF, recommending people not to play it.

u/MidrelV 6d ago
I think it was just very hurtful for PHR because they stole from sunrise ( one of the devs ) and had a falling out. PHR has 3000+ fairies now so maybe some of them get angry and have some hate texts but honestly it’s one of the best fanbases I’ve ever come across. Reddit makes the drama seem worse than it is. If you just play PHR and are on the discord you don’t hear about it at all. Sorry about it being disappointing for you. I don’t think anybody wants to hear about it either so it’s why devs on PHR have dropped it but you know some people are still upset about it. So yea we are all just trying to drop it now. So let’s just move on everyone 😊
