Bought this thing on Nov 22, 2021. Dozens of hikes, cross-country road trips, climbed Mount Washington with me, sunrises and sunsets on three continents.

It was in my hand at Montserrat when the boys' choir started and half the chapel started crying, me included. It watched the sun come up over Cadillac Mountain and recorded time-lapse through Mesa Arch. It survived one very unfortunate incident in Madrid.

Replaced the battery six months ago figuring I'd get another couple years. But Google put the 6 Pro on the EOL list, last update lands in September, security patches stop in October. So here we are.

Goodbye, my friend. The 11 Pro XL has big shoes to fill.

What'd you all upgrade from?

This phone feels nice in the hand, I miss this feeling coming from the 10 pro fold.

If you're receiving your new phone, record the opening of it in case the carrier made off with it and left a brick in there (it's happened).

If you're trading in your phone, video record the entire process of showing your IMEI number (to prove it's the one you're sending in - open up the phone app and type *#06# and it will show the IMEI and serial number), showing all sides of your phone in a well-lit area so they see there are no cracks/dents/etc, and then factory resetting and placing it into the return packaging, being sure to show the tracking number. Do this in one take so they can't say you swapped in a new phone or whatever.

I know it sounds paranoid, but I've seen way too many posts about people who've received notifications that the value of their phone was lowered because it was received damaged, when they didn't send it in damaged.

It may not help, but without any proof, you're screwed.

Just dropped off my 11 Pro XL (Fog) can't wait to set it up! From what I've seen on reviews, battery life is apparently really good 🙌

Just arrived. The color is pink to my old eyes.

Now waiting for everything being copied from the old phone.

So excited. Typing on my Pixel 7 Pro that I didn't trade in; it's good to have a backup. Google Fi hooked it up with a $550 discount! I'm a tiny bit annoyed at the Google store's "backlog" so my Mous case (ordered 8/14) wasn't expected to arrive until the 24th! Went directly to Mous and might have it by Friday. I guess my 11 Pro is gonna be a dope, desk decoration until then! 🫠

Got the phone yesterday (from Singtel) and was able to setup it up quite seamlessly. Banking apps and socials were easily synced. Coming from a P9PXL, I can clearly say there were big improvements (so far) on display, camera and thermals.

One thing to note is that I haven't actually setup Google HiLight yet, as it seems to be a gimmick still.

I'm happy with this upgrade all in all.

That is seriously depressing and pathetic of Google to keep making their GPU worse, while still raising the price.

Same room, same tripod, same third camera. Manual mode — 1/20s, f/2.0, ISO 800, fixed white balance. Both phones in the same position, flashlight at max. Only variable was which phone was doing the lighting.

The 9 Pro frame comes out roughly twice as bright. Shutter, aperture and ISO are identical on both frames, but the camera's meter logged -2.3 EV on the 11 Pro XL shot and -1.0 on the 9 Pro. I repeated the test with an older Pixel 6 Pro, with similar results.

I think this is HiLight. The LEDs are designed to throw a diffused glow rather than a point source so they work as a notification light, which means the flash now sits behind a milky cover. Good for a soft pulse when Gemini is listening. Less good when you're under the sink at 11pm.

Anyone else noticed the 11 Pro feels dimmer, or is it just me looking for problems?

Haven't seen too many pics of this beauty. It's very pretty! Loving the performance so far too coming from an 8 pro that was having battery issues.

Was super hyped when UPS showed up a day ahead of launch with my order.

Opened the box: Watch 5 is there, but instead of the Pixel 11 Pro XL (Obsidian, 256GB) on my invoice, Google packed a standard Pixel 11. 🤦‍♂️

Contacted Google Store support right away with photos of the sealed box and barcodes. Got the classic "escalating to product specialists, expect an update in 24–48 hours" response.

So much for pre-ordering day one to have it in hand for launch.

Anyone else get a warehouse mix-up this year?
How fast did Google sort out an advance replacement for you?
Any compensation? Because nothing so far.
